I had a letter through the post from this number, it looked like a total scam. It told me to activate my online TV licence by scanning a QR code. The worrying thing is the letter had my name, address and bank info, so clearly my details are floating around somewhere dodgy on the dark web. Don’t call the number or scan that barcode, it’s not legit. Plus, the letter didn’t even mention where it came from.

I got an email from '[email protected] if I ‘Need Help?’. It’s definitely a scam trying to con people into paying for a bogus TV licence. The phone no. which appeared at the bottom of the email was supposedly linked to TV licensing. Whether that number is legit or not is unclear, but I wouldn’t risk calling it without checking first. Feels dodgy to me.

29th July 2025, just wanted to say this number really belongs to TV Licensing. It’s specifically for folks with sight difficulties who need letters in braille, big print, or even an audio format.

I didnt get a call from this number but noticed it on a dodgy TV license email i received. I went through my real license letters and looks like this number is meant for people needing braille, big print or audio versions!

I got this email about my TV licence renewal but when I checked the licence number they gave, it doesn't seem to be real. Also, the bit where my email should be had a date and time instead, and the sender's email isn’t from the official TV licensing folks. Seems a bit dodgy to me.

Got another letter saying I haven’t paid my TV licence, but I don’t even watch live telly, just Netflix. Wasn’t sure if it was a scam until I googled the number and checked their site, plus the letter didn’t even have my name on it! Totally a scam and pure harassment!

This number is for TV Licensing, but it's actually a debt collection firm who bully elderly folks into paying by sending scary letters and turning up at your house. They use bailiffs who are usually untidy and of Asian background, so if you tell them to jog on, it can sound like you’re being racist. Proper dodgy tactics if you ask me.

I've just received an email regarding my TV licence that mentioned this phone number. It claims I need to establish a new direct debit as they were unable to collect it this month, with the licence supposedly set to expire tomorrow (on August 15th). Quite frankly, it’s a load of nonsense! The payment went out last week. To make matters worse, they even got my licence number and renewal date wrong. Besides, it's supposed to be a continuous direct debit, so why the fuss? Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

Looks like this is the legit TV licensing phone number, so I’m marking it neutral. Seems like scammers are just using this real number in fake emails. The police want us to give info about every scam call. Just Google action fraud, visit police.uk, head to the report section and flag it as a phishing scam. Then send the email on to nfib like they ask at the end of the report form.

I got an email from this number saying there was a problem with my TV licence payment and they needed me to update my info. They even threatened to send debt collectors if I didn’t. But the TV licence number they gave was wrong, so it’s definitely a scam.

Every couple of months I get emails saying I’m owed a refund or that my TV licence is running out. Totally fishy, looks like a scam to me. Stay clear!

I got a call from someone saying I’m owed £493 back from overpaying my TV licence in 2017/2018. It seemed quite convincing since the phone numbers they gave for hearing or sight difficulties and other languages were legit. But whatever you do, don’t fill out the form they send you. It’s definitely a scam.
