7 yearsReceived a call purporting to be from HMRC, alleging I was under investigation for tax fraud. Quite the shoddy effort, if you ask me!HMRC7 yearsI had a peculiar phone call purportedly from HMRC, claiming I was under investigation for tax fraud. The connection was quite poor, and the woman on the other end seemed rather pushy, insisting that if I didn't accept the charges, court action would follow. To be honest, the authenticity of the call didn't sit right with me. For starters, I maintain my HMRC account diligently and regularly check it. Moreover, the tax office typically sends notifications via post or email, which I haven't received on this occasion. This leads me to firmly believe it was a scam. They simply asked for my name, but failed to provide any verifiable details to establish their credentials. Very suspicious, indeed!HMRC7 yearsI received a call purporting to be from HMRC discussing alleged tax evasion! There were two recorded messages; the first struck me as rather formal, but the subsequent one lacked the same air of credibility. Just as I was getting into it, the line cut off after roughly half a minute. When I attempted to return the call, I got a rather unhelpful response saying, “this service is currently unavailable, please try again later.” Strangely, the entirety of the message didn’t even reference HMRC at all!HMRCSubmit Your Own Report (0300 200 8496)

About 03 Numbers
Many organizations adopt 03 numbers instead of the more costly 08 numbers. For example, many public sector bodies have shifted from 0845 numbers to 0345. The cost of calls is no more than calls to geographic numbers (01 or 02). Call charges are influenced by the time of the day, and most providers provide call packages that allow calls free of charge during certain times of the day. The cost of calls from mobiles vary according to the chosen calling plan. Usually, these calls are incorporated in free call packages.
