Got a message claiming to be from Amazon saying there’s an issue with my account. The text had a dodgy link like [#]amazon[###].9yuc.ru/a to “log in and update” my details. Definitely a scam, watch out!

Today at about 8:42 in the morning, my 86-year-old mum got a call from this number. The person said they were from Revenue and Customs. Luckily, mum was sharp enough to cut them off and told them to ring back when her son is around. They just hung up straight after. Honestly, these scoundrels make me sick - I can't even put into words how much I dislike them.

I got a robocall telling me if I didn’t hit 1 I’d get in trouble for tax evasion or something. So, I tried calling the number back and all I got was another automated voice saying the call couldn’t be completed. Quite dodgy if you ask me.

Today, a call popped up from this number claiming to be HMRC. Without thinking much, I hit 1 and the voice started saying something about tax evasion and a warrant out for me. Then the person asked me to grab a pen and paper, even when I told them I was busy working on my roof, they kept insisting. Suddenly, the call just dropped. I called back later and got an automated message saying the case had been sent to debt collectors. Total scam, watch out!

Any call telling me I've got some fraud complaint and to press '1' to sort it out sounds like a proper scam to me. I reckon that’s just a trick to make you agree to some sort of payment or subscription without realising. I don’t understand how these scammy numbers keep running without getting fined or shut down by the authorities? It’s crazy!

Got a call from some dodgy lot saying if I didn’t press 1 they’d arrest me for tax evasion or something. Total rubbish. Best thing to do is just ignore it, hang up straight away and block the number so they don’t bother you again.

Got a call from someone pretending to be from HM Revenue & Customs, telling me there was some fraud case against me and to press 1 for more info. I hung up straight away. Seriously, why can’t the police or HMRC just shut these numbers down and take legal action? Should I bother reporting it, and if yes, who do I even contact and how?

Got a call from some bloke claiming I’d committed tax evasion and that there was a warrant out for me. I just said “I haven’t got a clue what you’re talking about” and suddenly he lost it, shouting “HOW CAN YOU NOT KNOW?” Then he hung up on me. Definitely not an official government call. Best to just end the call right away and never share any details.

I've been getting loads of calls claiming to be from HMRC, and they're definitely dodgy. Just the other day I saw something on the telly warning people not to pick up or share any info. Apparently, HMRC never rings you suddenly out the blue or asks for payment if you didn’t know about any owed money. So yeah, best just ignore and be safe.

I didn’t pick up, thought I’d check the number here first. No shocker at all. Just gone and blocked it now. Earlier today, a near-identical number called me too. My phone’s full to the brim with blocked contacts - it’s honestly getting out of hand.

This morning, I answered a call from a number that looked almost the same as a previous one. After seeing what folks said here, I decided to block it. Then another call came through from this number, but I missed it. Guess I'll just block this one too.
