This morning I got a call from 03002003870 and wasn’t sure what to make of it. So, I rang up Anti-Fraud on 0300 123 2040 to check it out. It’s almost impossible to track down these scammers, but something could definitely be done about the businesses that sell UK landline numbers and the tech that lets calls be made untraceably from anywhere worldwide. I’ve contacted my MP (you can find the details on the UK government Parliament site) and requested that there be tighter rules on these firms, with proper investigations by the police. Still, it’ll take quite a few MPs pushing for this to get anywhere. Maybe it’d give them a break from all the usual Brexit nonsense.
