They said if I don’t answer, I’ll get arrested. Total scam!

Like loads of others, I got a voicemail from someone claiming to be HMR, telling me to press 1 to speak to them. They also said if I didn’t respond, they’d issue a warrant for my arrest. Honestly, it freaked me out a bit.

I got this automated call saying if I don’t hit "1" to talk to someone from HMRC, they’re gonna arrest me. Honestly, it’s just one of those scams, so watch out!

I’ve been getting loads of calls today, just today actually! I’ve been reporting every single one on here. Saw a tip from someone who said we should write to our MP, asking them to push for laws and for the authorities to crack down not on the scammers themselves, but on the firms that hand out these UK numbers that let dodgy calls come from anywhere and can’t be traced. Not sure if it’ll do any good, but worth a shot, right? I’m about to email my MP now - might give them something useful to deal with instead of all the usual political stuff!

This number has been ringing me nonstop lately. They claim I’ve got some sort of tax fraud case open, and if I don’t hit 1 to talk to an HMRC rep, they say I’ll get arrested. The message is awful, and there’s a second voice with a strong American accent that sounds so fake. I’ve hit 1 a few times just to mess with them, but every time the call just drops. These con artists are honestly so annoying! I’ve blocked the number now.

At first, it really seems legit, and even when you ring back, it sounds proper official as well. Best just to block and forget about it.

Picked up a call about some so-called tax fraud - total rubbish, just ignored it. I couldn’t help but chuckle though when they threatened I’d be arrested soon! Guess I’ll just sit back with a cuppa and wait for that to happen.

I didnt pick up, but after looking through other comments about tax fraud scams, I have to say I also received a call this morning at about 9:15am claiming to be from the HM Passport Office helpline. It’s weird how a helpline would just ring you out of the blue like that. Seems like both calls are probably dodgy scams if you ask me.
