Absolute sham from HMRC! I received a call insisting that there was an overpayment on my account and that I needed to up my payments. How ridiculous! When I rang back today using the official HMRC number, they were completely clueless about any such call. It turns out it was a scam! They clarified that whenever they reach out, their number shows as private, so any displayed number you see is definitely not them! Stay sharp, everyone!

I received a rather peculiar phone call on a Sunday around half past twelve, which struck me as quite unusual. When I attempted to ring back, there was no response, yet the phone rang for a rather long time. To add to the strangeness, I’ve been dealing with an overpayment situation, and after chatting with someone about it last week, it all feels rather fishy. In total, I've had about four calls from them. Quite the mystery, if you ask me!

I’ve just received a rather dodgy call this Sunday afternoon from this number, claiming to be from HMRC. They wanted to verify some personal information. I politely declined and - rather cheekily - the chap insisted that if I wasn’t up for chatting, I could ring back using a different number he provided. He even mentioned he’d be leaving a note on my account for me to follow up. When I tried dialling the number that had initially contacted me, lo and behold, it was out of service! It’s definitely best to steer clear of sharing any personal details; this is clearly a scam operation.

On a SUNDAY, I received a rather dodgy call from what claimed to be HMRC. They asked for my full name, address, date of birth, a contact number, and even the name of my bank! Naturally, I found it quite off-putting and refused to disclose any personal information. I mean, why on earth would they be calling me on a weekend? I told them to try again later and promptly hung up. When I attempted to call them back, there was no luck - couldn’t get through at all!
