Just a heads up, got a call saying I owed HMRC money and needed to pay more. Felt a bit dodgy, so I rang HMRC back using their official number. Turns out they never called me in the first place! They told me that whenever they call, the number shows up as private, so if you see a number on your phone, it’s definitely a scam. Watch out!

Got a call on a Sunday around half past twelve which was a bit strange, I tried calling back but no one picked up, though it did ring weirdly. I had been overpaid and now apparently need to repay them. Spoke to someone about it a week ago, but it all felt a bit fishy. Had about four calls in total.

This number rang me up on a Sunday afternoon claiming to be from HMRC, asking to verify some personal info. I told the guy I wasn’t interested and he then said if I wanted to call back I should use a different number. He even said he'd leave a note on my “account” saying I'd get back to them. Naturally, I tried ringing the number he first called me from and guess what? The line was dead. Definitely a scam, so don’t hand over any of your info.

Got a call on a Sunday from someone claiming to be from HMRC, asking for my personal details like my name, address, DOB, contact number, and even my bank's name. I didn’t feel right about it so I refused to share anything. Calling on a Sunday seemed odd to me. Told them to call back later and then just hung up. Tried dialing their number after that but couldn’t get through. Felt fishy all around.
