Someone rang me from this number earlier today. I’d just been reading about these scary scam calls recently, so I was wary about picking up. When an automated voice claimed it was HMRC and said I was under investigation for tax fraud, I just hung up straight away. Best not to answer it, stay cautious everyone.

Got a dodgy call from some Indian call centre pretending to be HMRC. Pretty sure HMRC never ring folks up like that. They told me to press 1, so I went along with it just to hear the accent - yep, exactly what I expected. Told the bloke I wasn’t daft and called him a right scammer before telling him to do one. Then I hung up and blocked the number straight away. Gotta admit, that part was quite satisfying. The weird thing was, he actually knew my name, which creeped me out a bit.
