They rung my wife’s phone but strangely never asked to talk to her, just kept me on the line. The person said they were from HMRC, one of their 5600 investigators or something like that. I kept questioning where they were calling from, hopefully by doing that I wasted their time and stopped them tricking anyone else. Eventually, they just hung up. The number they used was 0300 200 3770.

I was under the impression the gov was cracking down on these calls and had stopped them altogether, so I didn’t bother picking up. Nearly fell for one the other day though, which was close!

Honestly, these scammers are just the lowest of the low. My advice? Block them straight away. Seriously, why do they even waste air? Do everyone a favour and just vanish!

Got a call warning me I’d be arrested unless I pressed 1 for some fraud issue! This kind of thing could easily frighten elderly folks, it’s dangerous and should be stopped now! I’ve already made a report to the police about it!

I reckon if someone who's vulnerable got this call saying they're going to be arrested for dodging taxes, it'd be downright terrifying. No one should have to deal with that kind of stress. This kind of thing seriously ought to be stopped!

i got a call from someone saying they were from hmrc, it was a recorded message and honestly, it really shook me up because ive got anxiety and ptsd. when i managed to get through and spoke to a woman, i asked if she could wait a moment and instantly she just hung up on me. tried calling the number back but no luck, it just wouldnt connect.

Got a call the other day from someone claiming to be HMRC. As soon I realised it was dodgy, I ended the call. Tried ringing the number back and it just showed up as unknown. They even copied the same voice HMRC uses, which made me suspicious straight away but still answered and felt pretty uneasy about it. I reckon loads of folks are gonna get tricked by this. Proper HMRC would never call like that or start talking without checking your ID first.
