I nearly got a warrant out on me just because I didn’t hit 1 when they asked. Thankfully, I didn’t take it any further and just looked up the number on Google instead.

A few days back I got a call from a number with no ID showing up. They repeated the same spiel over and over. When I said I had to check with my accountant first, they hurriedly said no, you can't speak to anyone else or it’ll cause more trouble. Seems like they’re trying to stop folks from giving others a heads up about their scam. So heads up everyone, this call is definitely a con!

They rang, then just cut off the call. This isn't the first time either; previously they threatened to have me arrested!

Thought it might be a scam but the call was from someone claiming to be HMRC saying there was a warrant for fraud. My partner hit 1 like they asked, and then the call just cut off. Can they actually get details from him just by pressing that?
