03002003677 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03002003677 👆 is reported as a persistent scam number posing as HMRC, using automated calls to falsely accuse recipients of tax fraud and threatening arrest unless they press a button. The calls feature poor English and prompt recipients to connect to supposed investigators, often ending in requests for personal information. Many recognise it as a fraudulent tactic targeting the vulnerable, including elderly people, by instilling fear through aggressive, misleading messages. Genuine HMRC communications typically do not operate this way, usually using text messages rather than urgent phone demands. Recipients are strongly advised to hang up immediately and not engage, as pressing buttons or sharing details may lead to identity theft or other fraud risks. Authorities caution vigilance against such deceptive practices.

Got a recorded call from someone claiming to be HMRC, the English was pretty rubbish. They said I was involved in some fraud and had to hit 1 to speak to the officer. They even threatened to send a warrant if I didn’t press it - what a joke! Definite scam, no doubt about it.

Received a recorded message claiming to be from HMRC accusing me of committing tax fraud. The automated voice warned if I didn’t press 1 right away, they’d send a warrant to arrest me. I quickly ended the call, but I’m worried that older people might get really scared by this trick. - caller: unknown - faking HMRC identity

Got a call from someone claiming to be with HMRC about some tax fraud issue. They ended up connecting me to a call centre in India. The woman on the other end sounded totally clueless about why she was calling, only asking for my personal info. I didn’t bother continuing and just hung up - seemed obvious it was a scam. Caller said they were some kind of tax fraud investigator or something.

Just got a call "from HMRC" telling me to press 1 or face arrest soon lol... honestly, it’s mad how many of these annoying calls we get! You’d think in a country like ours, this kind of rubbish wouldn’t be so common. Total nightmare! The caller said they were HMRC but yeah, obviously not legit.

I’m with HMRC and our phone numbers usually begin 0300 200... but somehow these scammers have got a number that sounds legit enough to trick some folks. Nowadays, we also send texts, so those fake messages might catch people out too. Just watch out and stay alert!
