I got a call on a bank holiday from someone claiming to be from HMRC. They threatened to arrest me if I didn't comply, but honestly, I just laughed it off. Definitely don't hit 1 like they told me!

I got a call at like 10.35am on the 24th Jan 2019. An automated voice claimed to be from HMRC and said they were looking into me. I ended the call straight away and rang my accountant. He said the number seemed legit, like it could be HMRC, but warned me it was definitely dodgy.

Got loads of calls from this number and a couple really close to it. They keep saying I’ll get arrested if I don’t hit 1. Feels totally dodgy to me. Says it's from the tax office or something like that. Complete scam!

I blocked the first number, but today I got a call from a similar one. They gave the same spiel, but now they threatened that if I didn’t press 1 to talk to some investigator, they’d send me a warrant for arrest! The caller said they were from the tax office or something like that.

The moment I heard it was about tax fraud and that I had to press a button, I just ended the call. No way would the HMRC be sending automated alerts like that if it was serious.

Got a call from 3002003617, and when I picked up, there was a recorded message saying it was from some fraud dept and I’d be arrested if I didn’t press 1 to confirm it was me. I pressed 1 like it told me to, then suddenly the line just went dead. Really sketchy. - caller: 3002003617
