Yesterday and today I've had a couple of calls from someone saying they're with Paypal. When I picked up today, the person asked for me using my maiden name. Someone called me claiming to be from the HRMC. When I asked how they got my contact details, they insisted HRMC had them on file. I told them that couldn't be true since it's a new number, and then they just hung up on me.

Got calls from this number a couple times today (14/3/19) but when I didn’t pick up it just cut off. Tried calling back on my landline, but a message said the number isn’t working. After reading all the reviews here, there’s no way I’m answering again! I’ve blocked two different lines already, but I’m pretty sure they’ve got loads more numbers to ring from.

I never pick up calls from 0300 numbers. This time no voicemail was left either, so I looked it up here and apparently it's best to just keep ignoring these calls. I've gone ahead and blocked the number. HMRC wouldn’t ring you like this about any tax problems - they always send letters instead if there’s something wrong.
