I got a call from someone claiming there was tax fraud and a warrant out for me. It felt very real since I’d just finished my tax return the day before. They messed up a few details though, which made me suspicious. The biggest red flag was when they said I had just 45 minutes to pay £2,200!!! Totally a scam!

Got a call from 03002003603 today, some bloke claiming I’ve got an arrest warrant for fraud from HMRC. He said his name was Officer Aric Smith and even gave me a badge number, 98560LR. He threatened to arrest me if I didn’t pay £25,000. I told him to do his worst and just hung up. Has anyone else had something like this? If so, does anyone know the best way to report these scammers to the proper authorities? We really need to stop these fraudsters.
