I got a call from someone claiming there’s a warrant out for me. They knew my address and said the police were on their way. The woman on the line was really nasty and shouting about some tax credit fraud, but I don’t even claim tax credits. It was all very threatening and unsettling, especially since she wouldn’t answer any of my questions. I’m trying to figure out how they got my details and who exactly these people are. I received a call from an automated voice claiming to be from HMRC Fraud. It rang my phone and I just ended the call straight away. Don’t press any numbers, especially not 1, as it could connect you to a premium line which might charge ridiculous fees (like how 118 118 asks for £6.40 per minute). I reckon their whole plan is to get you hooked on the call and keep you there to rack up charges. Just my thoughts! The number they called from was 0300 2003593.
