03002003431 Summary (Read all comments)

Phone number ☎️ 03002003431 👆 is reported as a persistent scam using automated calls pretending to be from HMRC, falsely accusing recipients of tax fraud and threatening arrest unless they press a number to speak to an "officer." This fraudulent approach often involves recorded messages with misleading details and demands for payment. Callers have been described as using fake names and sometimes non-British accents. Genuine HMRC always initiates contact by postal letter first and never threatens immediate arrest by phone. Recipients are strongly advised to ignore, not engage, and block the number. Reporting such calls directly to HMRC and the police is recommended. This scam is distressing and aims to intimidate individuals, so vigilance and caution are crucial.

I ignored a call from a number I didn't recognise. After looking it up here, I decided to block it. If it was something urgent, surely they would've left a voicemail, but nope, nothing.

Got a call from some automated voice claiming to be HMRC, saying there’s a fraud case against me and if I don’t press 1, the police will be called and I’d be arrested soon. What a load of rubbish! My 16-year-old son has been getting calls from this number and they even left a voicemail saying he’s got a warrant for his arrest and accused him of fraud. Really frightening for someone so young! The caller sounded like a machine.

So I got a robo call claiming to be HMRC, saying there was some fraud case against me and if I didn’t hit 1, the police would be on their way to arrest me. Total rubbish! There’s no way they’d just call you out of the blue like that - you’d get a proper letter through the post first. Definitely a scam, don’t fall for it!

If you get a call from HMRC, don’t trust it right away. They always send letters first through the post and won't start by ringing you. So if the number is 03002003431 or anything like that, just hang up and don’t share any personal info.

I got a call today from this number 0300 200 3431, some bloke with an Indian accent. He told me he was from HMRC and said I owed them £2000 and if I don't pay now, they'll arrest me. Sounds like a total scam to me. Wish I had time to report it properly but just too busy... Caller ID was 03002003431.

What a rubbish scam that was! Got a recorded call claiming it was from HMRC, warning me I’d be arrested unless I hit 1. Obviously just some dodgy trick to get you talking to con artists who'll try to scam you out of loads of money. Total nonsense.

Got a call on the 27th Feb from someone claiming HMRC has opened a fraud case against me and that I need to get a lawyer. I asked them for a reference number and they just cut the call. It was a bit scary at first, but thinking about it afterwards, it was obviously rubbish.

Just had a phone call warning me to press 1 or I’d be arrested for tax evasion. When I tried ringing back, the line was dead. Could be terrifying for folks who don’t know it’s a scam. The numbers were 03002003429 and 03002003431 claiming to be HMRC but clearly fake.

Today I got a call from someone named Jason Harris, sounded like he might be Indian, claiming to be from HMRC. He told me I owed £2600 and said there was a warrant for my arrest. He even gave me a case number and warrant number. I’ve since reported it to HMRC as I’m convinced it’s a scam. As far as I know, HMRC only contacts through letters, not phone calls or emails. - caller number was 0300 2003431

Cheers to all who shared their experience, I looked up this number and found this page. Got a call from it today, but I ended the call right away and followed your suggestion not to ring back. On the bright side, it did get me up sharpish this morning 😂 - caller: 0300 200 3431

Just got a call from a number flagged as likely scam, with the usual threat of the police if I didn’t "press 1" to speak to an HMRC rep. The caller was an Indian bloke calling himself “John Smith” which should have been a massive red flag. He shot out some ID number and a case ref, saying I owed £2350 right now or I’d be dragged to court with fines and maybe jail. Totally bogus! I’m definitely reporting this to the cops because it’s the vulnerable who might fall for this and lose their cash. Like loads others have said, HMRC always sends you letters first to your registered address, not calls like this. The number was 0300 200 3431 if that helps anyone else.
