Got a call earlier today from someone saying the police were on their way to arrest me for some sort of income fraud. I’ve got kids and I honestly got so upset, it was such a hectic moment I didn’t even stop to think much about it. It wasn’t until they asked me to make a payment that I started to realise it might be a scam. Proper scary experience.

Like many others have said, I got calls from three slightly different 0300 numbers. HMRC wouldn’t contact you like that, so it’s definitely a scam. I've already reported it to HMRC loads of times.

Somebody said they were from HMRC, but I really doubt they'd ring you up on a Saturday or threaten to arrest you without warning. Seems totally daft to me.

Been getting calls from this number a couple times recently. It’s obviously one of those HMRC scams where they try to scare you by saying there’s some fraud complaint and tell you to hit 1 to talk to some “officer.” Totally bogus, no fraud here at all! Just block and don’t bother answering.
