Watch out for those HMRC fraudsters! My sister nearly got duped. She was all set to buy cash vouchers for more than a grand, claiming it was to pay off some tax debt. When I asked what was going on, she quietly told me it was HMRC calling her and that she had to pay immediately using those vouchers. This scam is pretty common, so be careful!

Avoid these numbers, definitely a scam! Got calls twice within two days from 0300 200 9032 and then 0300 200 1705. Pretty sure it's not legit.

Got a robocall asking me to press 1 - total scam alert! Like loads of people have mentioned before, best thing to do is just hang up and block the number, don’t even bother with it.

Just got a call earlier, apparently from HMRC but it was a scam. The number showing up was 0300 200 3113, which I think is dodgy. Keep an eye out around this time, they seem to be calling then.

This afternoon my son’s 13-year-old phone rang and I picked it up. A very posh sounding bloke on a recorded message claimed to be from HMRC, saying I had to press 1 right away to sort out some unpaid taxes or I’d get an arrest warrant. My boy’s only thirteen, never had a job, and hasn’t paid a single penny in tax. He doesn’t even have a National Insurance number yet, so this obviously has to be a scam. It’s mad - they must be just dialing random numbers from some list and hoping someone takes the bait. Just block and ignore these calls!

Got a call from someone pretending to be from HMRC, but I didn’t hit 1 or anything. Now I’m just sitting here waiting for them to send a warrant or something πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚πŸ˜‚

BEWARE, THIS IS A TOTAL SCAM! I got the exact same message word for word. Didn't press 1 at all, and I'd tell anyone to just hang up straight away like I did. Staying safe!

This definitely isn’t HMRC, scam for sure. They never contact you like this, it’s always through letters, no way they’d start threatening arrests over the phone, it’s a joke really. Honestly, if you’re not tech-savvy it can seem scary but just block them and forget about it.

Got a call just now, but no one picked up. Probably just another annoying telemarketer. Someone must have shared my number around. Gonna block it for sure.

I got a call claiming to be from HMRC, so I hit 1 thinking I could chat and explain my side, but it just put me on hold with some message playing. I'm pretty sure they've charged me for that time!

Be careful, got a call pretending to be from HMRC saying there’s a warrant for me. They told me to press 1 to talk to HMRC or else I’d get arrested. Total scam, don’t fall for it!

I got a call from a bloke with a fancy accent claiming to be from HMRC, saying there was an arrest warrant for me over some unpaid taxes. He kept telling me to press 1 or I'd get arrested right away! I just hung up straight away since it was clearly one of those automated calls - no point in wasting my time with them like I usually do!

I've noticed this number, 0300 200 3129, will just cut off the call if I don't say anything straight away. Now I usually keep silent if I don’t know who’s calling since sometimes saying hello triggers an automated message. It’s left me a bit unsure whether it’s legit or just some robocall.

Yeah, it’s got to be a scam, like the others mentioned here. HMRC wouldn’t ever ring you up and threaten you like that. If you get a call like that, just hang up, it’s definitely dodgy.
