Got a voicemail that was all automated, said something about tax evasion and warned I'd be arrested. Doesn't seem like the kind of thing that would come from hmrc for real.

Got a call from someone saying they were from hmrc, telling me to press 1. The person on the other end couldn't properly say 'hmrc' and when I asked where they were calling from, they mumbled and gave no clear answer. They tried to scare me a bit but when I asked for proof they hung up straight away.

I got a call from 0300 200 3125 but they didn’t bother leaving a voicemail. If it’s important, like from HM Revenue or something, they’ll have to ring again.

Just got the same call here. As always, HMRC won’t do a thing. I hit 1 thinking I might mess about with some bogus card details (I’m in payments), hoping the phone company could track the call afterwards. No luck though. Seems with these scammers you need to actually speak to someone for the tracing to work, which is no use if they don’t pick up properly.
