Got a voicemail from someone with a heavy Asian accent saying they’re from HMRC. They were going on about a warrant because I supposedly messed up my income tax. Total scam alert!

Got a voicemail claiming there’s a warrant for my arrest and criminal charges against me. Totally bonkers! This kind of stuff is just dumb. Really feel like more needs to be done to put a stop to these scammers!

Got a call from this number around 1.30pm while I was in the middle of painting my stairs - totally frustrating. Like others have mentioned, they pretended to be from HMRC, saying I had a warrant out for me and that if I didn’t press 1 to speak with them, I’d soon be arrested. As if HMRC would really ring people up with threats like that! I’m in my late seventies, but I’m not daft enough to get caught out by this obvious scam. Better luck next time, scammers!

Absolutely awful experience. They claimed I'd be arrested if I didn't pay some tax, total scammers. No real revenue office would ever ask for an account number over the phone, especially when all my taxes are up to date. Definitely something the police should look into.

Some bloke rang sayin it was the HMRE or summat, telling me theres a warrant out for me and if I don't sort it soon, I'll get nicked. Sounds like a right scam to me, so I went ahead and blocked the number.
