Somebody rang me up claiming I hadn’t paid my taxes. That’s just not how it works here in the UK when you’re employed - your tax is sorted through PAYE, not by you directly. Honestly, sounds like a scam to me, trying to scare people into handing over money to fake HMRC agents who just want to nick your cash! Avoid them at all costs.

Just got a call from this number but didn’t answer. I looked it up first because about half a year ago I got a very similar call. They act like they’re from HMRC, but HMRC always sends you a letter first. Do yourself a favour and block this number!

I just got a call from this number and it really shook me up. They said they were from HMRC and threatened that I’d be arrested if I didn’t contact them straight away. I’m glad I didn’t panic and gave them any info. I looked up the number online and found out it’s a scam, but I'm worried there’s others who might fall for it. Got a call from some scammer claiming there was a fraud case against me. I hit number 1 and ended up chatting with a woman who sounded Indian. She kept telling me about this supposed fraud enquiry, and I told her there’s no way since I’ve been disabled for more than 30 years. She didn’t really know what to say after that and just hung up straight away.
