I pressed the number 1, and a chap with an Indian accent quickly asked for my name and address, claiming there was a warrant from HMRC out for my arrest over tax fraud. When I requested that he provide some written details, he pretended he couldn’t hear me, and then just like that, the call disconnected. I have a strong inkling this is a scam. Best to steer clear and keep your personal details to yourself!

I recently received a call I didn't answer, along with a voicemail claiming there's a warrant out in my name, and that I might be apprehended soon! Quite alarming, to say the least. I attempted to return the call but couldn't get connected. I've now decided to block that number entirely.

Received a rather dodgy call claiming to be from HMRC. An automated voice insisted there was some sort of fraud case linked to my name. They urged me to press 1 for more information, warning that a warrant could be in the pipeline if I didn’t act fast. Absolute nonsense!
