Caller: 0300 200 2279 Heed my warning, do not engage with this number; it’s nothing but a SCAM! I'd advise you to block it straight away. To summarise, it's an automated message purporting to be from the HMRC. They claimed there’s some sort of fraudulent activity linked to my name, insisting that failure to press 1 or hanging up would result in my immediate arrest. Just avoid this number altogether!

Indeed, my wife, Sally, just received a rather alarming phone call that sent her into a bit of a tizzy, prompting her to ring me straight away. As an accountant, I assured her that it was all nonsense - the number in question is 0300 200 2279.
