I've had one of those calls today. Didn't press option 1, so now I'm just sitting here, anxiously awaiting the HMRC to turn up at my door. Can't help but think it might be a good idea to make a quick exit to Brazil as a precaution. I did stay on the line for a bit, but it eventually went quiet after some time.

I’ve just been through a similar experience. Foolishly, I pressed 1 and got connected to a lady. When I inquired about her office location, she replied it was in London Town. I then asked her to verify my information, and she absolutely lost it, cursing at me, claiming I’d be arrested today, and then abruptly ended the call. I’ve gone ahead and blocked the number and reported it. What a nightmare!

I received a rather alarming phone call from this number, during which I was shockingly accused of being involved in tax evasion! They were quite adamant that if I didn’t settle a payment immediately, the authorities would be coming for me. The caller even offered to stay on the line until I could arrange the funds. When I mentioned I’d be hanging up, she ominously declared, ‘Fine, I’ll just inform the police then.’ At that moment, it became abundantly clear to me that I was dealing with a scam!
