Scammers - I've already told Action Fraud about this, you lot should as well. Got a robo call saying it was HMRC and that I'd be arrested if I didn’t comply. Never ever press buttons when you get calls like that or hand out your bank info. Hope they get caught and end up behind bars quick! - number was 03002002258

Received a call on 04/05/2019 claiming to be from HMRC. The caller sounded really intimidating, saying I'd be arrested right away if I didn't press 1. I didn’t even stay on the line and just ended the call. The caller identified themselves as HMRC.

Someone rang me pretending to be from HMRC, but the voice sounded like it was from India or something weird like that. I decided to mess around a bit and asked where exactly I was supposed to pay my taxes. When they pressed for a reason why I hadn’t paid, I just said I didn’t want to, just for the laugh. The bloke called himself Steve Johnson or something like that.

Got a ring from this number earlier. The bloke asked for my name and address, so I gave him: Philip Hammond, 11 Downing Street, London, SW1. He just punched it straight into his system like it was nothing! Then he wanted my National Insurance number, so I fed him a load of rubbish. He also asked for my bank details - he had no clue! When I asked if he knew who Philip Hammond was, he told me “you”. Told him he was a right muppet and ended the call. - caller: HMRC

Cheers for putting up these reports. I got a couple of calls from that very same number but just ignored them. Lately, I’ve stopped picking up calls from unknown numbers. Back on 15th April, similar dodgy calls came through but from a different number: 02039622041, with someone pretending to be from HMRC. After I cut them off, I got another call from someone saying they were the police, ringing from 01622690690 - which freaked me out a bit cos that actually is the Maidstone Kent Police switchboard number. Anyways, big thanks for having this site! The number I’m talking about is 03002002258.
