I’ve been getting tons of letters from this so-called County Court about my daughter, claiming she owes money for an overpaid midwife bursary. I signed up with Checkatrade and soon after started getting emails claiming to be from the county court business centre demanding £1448 for no clear reason and telling me to ring 03001231056. Got a letter that looked like it's from the County Court Business Centre saying I owe £1,336.49 to someone called Mrs Brothwell in Nottingham. The phone numbers they gave were 03001231056 and 08703240166. They said I ignored claim papers which added extra fees and warned that enforcement action would start if I didn’t pay in 7 days, causing even more costs. My partner has been asked to settle an online shopping bill, even though his existing account is perfectly up to date. The company claims it pertains to an earlier account of his. However, after he contacted them directly, they assured him that there’s no outstanding debt from that previous account. Got a letter from this number that looked proper official from HM Courts & Tribunals Service. The writing looked really professional and genuine. But it was missing a couple things - no name at the end, and no signature. Courts never send out letters or summons without signing them. Also worth noting, the letter was from the claimant: CP PLUS LTD T/A GROUPNEXUS. CP Plus is known for being pushy with parking fees and hassling folks over dodgy parking tickets.

The person on the phone told me if I hung up before the message finished then it would count as something bad. So I just ended the call. HMRC would never scare people like that.

This number called me and I instantly knew it was a scam since HMRC wouldn't call me on my mobile about unpaid taxes. They asked my name, so I gave a fake one, and lol, they actually used it when talking to me 😆 I kept them chatting for like 30 or 40 minutes, acting like I was following their instructions. In the end, I told them the computer rejected it, said some polite things, and hung up 😂 Honestly, these scammers should be locked up for targeting innocent folks.
