I got a call from someone named Paul Thomas claiming to be from HMRC. He was quite aggressive, saying I had a warrant for my arrest. Then he pressured me to give my bank info, saying I owed them £1,985 that I needed to pay back. It all sounded very dodgy.

This bloke called Paul Thompson saying he was from the tax office. He told me my brother supposedly owed £1400 and that if it wasn’t paid right away, he’d end up in jail. Quite the scare tactic!

Got a call from someone claiming to be HMRC, but the accent gave it away - sounded like it was from India. They kept threatening to send me to jail, which didn’t seem right at all. When I asked for proof or their ID, they started shouting insults at me. I ended the call telling them to enjoy their rice and mud hut - didn’t hold back!

Some bloke calling himself Officer Richard Harris rang me up, saying I was caught up in a fraud case with HMRC. Apparently, I supposedly owed them some money and had to cough up half right away, with the rest in payments. He threatened me that if I didn't pay, there’d be a £25,000 fine and I could even face 5 years behind bars. He also said my house and car would be seized and that I’d be splashed over the papers for fraud. I was absolutely terrified and even ended up in tears. Later on, I decided to call HMRC directly, and turns out the whole thing was a scam!

Got a call from someone called Officer Richard Harris saying I owe money to HMRC. They wanted me to pay up or set up a payment plan quickly to stop any action being taken. I’ve reported it to Action Fraud and also informed both the PAYE and Self Employed teams at HMRC. Sounds like a total scam to me.
