When I picked up, I first heard a really loud noise but then it just went dead quiet. Total silence after that.

At first, the call sounded kinda clear but hard to make out what was being said. I thought I caught something like "Wi fi 36." So, I looked it up on an online caller ID site. Turns out, it’s flagged as a scam. I’ve gone ahead and reported it.

Got loads of calls around 7 tonight, can't figure out why.
I reckon it’s not really HMRc ringing, they usually stick to office times, so this has gotta be a scam.

At about 1.### am, my home phone got three rings from the number 0###00###. They mentioned some weird long code for a 'Libius website' and said to use it within ### minutes or something. I wasn’t sure what was going on, so I just shut the phone off!

Got a call on my phone from 03000 ### ###, the guy said he was Gary Preston from HMRC. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

I work at hmrc and can tell you that 03000 numbers are definitely used by them. Lately, because of covid, they’re calling people at home more often. But if you’re unsure about an 03000 call, don’t worry too much - if it’s something serious, they’ll always follow up with a letter to your home address first.

Got a call from 03000, but I didn’t answer it. Sounds like it might be one of those scam calls to me.

I'm so fed up with this number ringing me so many times a day. I'm just a housewife, and it's really annoying!

I’m so fed up with this number calling me over and over again throughout the day. I just stay at home all day. Please, can someone block this number?

This number is a complete con, don’t get caught up in their nonsense. They called our house twice, asking for someone in the family, but I told them that person wasn’t around. When I asked where they were calling from, they refused to say and insisted they could only speak to that specific person. After hanging up, I quickly Googled the number but didn’t find much, since I only searched the “area code” bit (the 03000). Later I discovered it’s actually an HMRC scam, which made things clearer. The very next day they rang again asking for the same person. I said I’d hand the phone over but only if they told me where they were calling from. When they said ‘HMRC’, I knew for sure it was a dodgy call. I told them I wasn’t fooled and they hung up. So seriously, BE WARNED and always double-check numbers like this. Don’t feel awkward asking loads of questions to protect yourself!

Nowadays, HMRC might give you a call at your house. Its quite unusual since they're handing out loads of cash in grants due to the COVID situation, so they need to get in touch quick to double check people’s claims are legit. If they do ring, don't worry, they’ll just ask easy things like who your accountant is or what kind of business you have.

Got a phone call from this number today, someone said they were from HMRC. Just so you know, HMRC never ring you or send messages about claims, especially not on weekends like Saturday. Don’t get tricked by these scammers!

Honestly, I've had them ring me out of the blue from 03000 numbers about checking a VAT refund claim. I always tell them to prove the amounts on the VAT form first, but yeah, HMRC do just cold call sometimes, it’s not all made up.

Got a call today from someone claiming to be HMRC, saying my VAT was being looked into. Just a heads up, HMRC doesn’t ring you up - they always send letters through the post if there’s an issue!

I got a call today and it was one of those automated messages saying I had an arrest warrant over unpaid taxes or something like that. Quite dodgy if you ask me!
