Sounds like they're chasing an old bill, could be a credit card or a utility one. Most likely they've bought the debt from whoever originally owned it, and it might have been sold a few times already. Each sale probably made the debt cheaper for the buyer, so they don’t want to waste too much effort chasing you properly. What they really want is for you to start talking and basically admit you owe them, maybe even agree on small repayments. Best advice: don’t engage with them at all, cause if you do, you’re basically confirming you owe the money. Just don’t do it!

This number leaves me an automated message nearly every day, sometimes even a few times daily. They tell me to ring back and mention a reference number in the message. When I went away on holiday for a fortnight last year, I came back to 28 calls from them. I'm 73 and have anxiety, and these constant calls really upset me. Someone really needs to sort this out. I managed to get my phone provider to block them for a bit, but now they’ve started harassing me again.

i got a loan like 20 years back and cleared it right when i remortgaged but somehow the debt got passed to link and they've been chasing me for ages for cash i aint supposed to pay! if they keep bothering you, just block their number. after all this time, you'd expect them to be pestering someone else by now! i've spoken to a lawyer and they told me not to deal with them, don't pick up calls or reply to their letters - for anyone stuck with the same problem as me.

Link Financial Debt Collectors are honestly the worst. They ring me like 4 or 5 times every day. I've told them loads of times I'm not who they're after and to take me off their list. But they keep saying they can't do anything until they talk to the person they want. Got a call earlier from some posh lady claiming to be from Link Financial. I know they're a debt collection firm, so I told her to jog on and there’s no way she’ll get a penny from me. She threatened to send bailiffs, and I said I’d be ready for them - if they step onto my property, I’ll be making a citizen’s arrest for trespassing. I’m part of beat the bailiffs and we give them a hard time, filming them and uploading it to YouTube for all to see.
