I get we all need to earn a living, but there must be plenty of honest jobs out there that don’t involve trying to con folks. I can block these calls easy enough, but I worry about loads of older people who might not be as quick to catch on.

Got a call from someone pretending to be O2, saying I’d been selected for a deal giving me 30% off my phone bill. They insisted they didn’t need any details off me since they supposedly already had everything they needed - which felt a bit dodgy from the start. They also wanted to send a couple of texts, which I reckon were phishing attempts to steal my info and login. When I asked them to prove they were real, they just ended the call. Pretty obvious scam, probably one of their slicker tricks. Best to steer clear and waste their time if you can, but definitely not genuine.
