I got a call from 02840041118 just after ten in the morning. The caller had an American accent and claimed to be from BT, warning that my internet would be cut off today due to some security breach in California. They told me to press 1, but I didn’t stick around to hear more and just hung up. It sounded pretty legit, but with all the bogus calls I get about internet issues when everything’s fine, I didn’t trust it. I also saw a similar complaint for 02389819790 back on the 6th and 7th of April. Seems like one of those scams that shifts around numbers.

Like loads of others have said, I’m well aware it’s a scam. But my mum, who has dementia, got a call from someone pretending to be BT saying my internet was hacked. She believed it at first. Luckily she told them to speak to me, but she might have been tricked another time. She’s not even with BT, but since that’s all she knows, she forgot that detail. This kind of thing is really risky! Just got one of those automated calls claiming to be from BT, saying my line was hacked in California. These scammers are getting really bold. Tried to block this number using BT call protect but it wouldn’t let me add it to the blacklist. It said it couldn’t recognise it, which is odd since I got it from 1471 myself. BT just told me to hang up and didn’t suggest calling back or anything similar. Bit frustrating really!

I got called by BT, or at least that's what they claimed. Apparently, they've started a new branch called BT Bitcoin Mining, plus another one named BT Scammers. Now they want to hijack your computer to make more money for their shareholders or something. Just a heads up, watch out for this kind of nonsense!

Got a call from them today, sounded like some sort of American accent and it was one of those automated messages. I’m actually with Talk Talk, not BT, so it’s pretty annoying these jokers keep ringing me up.
