I keep receiving calls from this particular number each day, and out of curiosity, I briefly answer to see what the caller has to say. On the first day, it sounded like it was a woman on the line, and then an Asian man on another occasion. They supposedly claimed that I am an O2 customer, although I am not affiliated with them. Despite kindly requesting them to stop calling me, they flatly refused. When I questioned if this was a scam, they confirmed it by stating, "Yes, madam, it is indeed a scam." At that point, I firmly asked them to leave me alone and ended the call.

I recently received a call from a person who identified themselves as an O2 representative, inquiring about someone else. I informed them that I was not the person they were looking for and as a result, they asked me to disclose my identity. I politely declined their request and promptly ended the call. Someone called me and asked if I was 'Amy Collins' because they had a SIM card for Amy. I clarified that I am not Amy. The caller then inquired if I was an O2 customer, to which I confirmed. He asked if my name was xxx (my actual name), and upon realizing he had my name, I remarked, 'Ah, so you have my name then.' He explained that he found it by typing in my number into their database. I mentioned that information like that can also be found on social media or job sites. Then it struck me, 'Wait a minute, if I can just type your number in to know who you are, you could be anyone!' Someone said they were calling from 02 and told me i'd won an iphone x, saying they’d send me a free pay as you go sim through the post. Then they started asking loads of questions about my phone plan. I told them they should know that since i’m with 02 already, but then they said something about calling people from different accounts so they don’t have my info. It was a bit worrying since they had my address. I just ended the call.

i’m not sure who this number is, but after a bit of searching it seems to be from ballycastle, northern ireland. since northern ireland is part of the uk, there’s no separate international code for calling inside the uk. if you’re dialing from outside the uk, you’d use the code 0044 and leave out the leading zero in the number. so for this number, you’d call it like 0044 2825420303. hopefully that helps a bit even though i can’t tell who it’s actually for. when i answered, the call just ended.
