I know no official government agency sends scary phone messages like this; they always send letters first. It’s best to look up unknown numbers before calling back. I’m planning to inform my local MP about this scam, and I reckon others should too.

I got a call where they left a voicemail saying there’s a legal case against me. Then a recorded voice claimed to be from the Inland Revenue and told me to ring back straight away to dodge any lawsuits, saying it was my final warning. Definitely a scam - the Inland Revenue wouldn’t ever contact you that way or leave such messages. Best thing to do is block the number or report it to your phone company.
