Phone number ☎️ 02821788333 👆 is reported as a persistent scam involving automated calls from various numbers, often claiming to be HM Revenue & Customs (HMRC) officers, such as “Sarah Wilson” or “Eric Foster.” These calls use threatening language about unpaid taxes, impending court cases, or legal consequences to intimidate recipients into responding or paying money. Genuine HMRC correspondence is always sent by letter, never by automated phone calls or voicemail messages. Many UK residents have blocked these numbers after recognising the scam. The callers often have unfamiliar accents and provide inconsistent details. Authorities advise ignoring and blocking such calls, not returning them, and reporting incidents to Action Fraud to help protect vulnerable individuals from distress and financial loss.

I've been getting loads of calls like this one too. They talk all scary about taxes and stuff from the tax office, making threats. I tried blocking the numbers but then they just ring me again from different ones. Completely annoying!

What a complete con! I strongly advise against returning their call; you might inadvertently connect to a costly premium number. Just so you know, HMRC doesn’t leave automated voicemail messages!

I've gotten a couple of calls from this number already. If I don't recognise the number or if it’s hidden or says private, I just don't pick up. No way am I answering those.

Got a call from 02821788333 with some weird robot woman saying she was from HMRC, warning me about some court case I needed to respond to quickly by ringing them back. They tried to scare me with vague legal trouble if I didn’t reply. Total scam, without a doubt. Don’t bother calling them back unless you fancy having a laugh at their expense! HMRC never uses automated messages - they always send letters through proper post. I’ve blocked the number and reported it already.

I was subjected to an extensive monologue, during which I had no chance to interject, insisting that I was in debt for £19,000, and that they’d be freezing all my bank accounts and whatnot. Eventually, he candidly confessed, “Intimidating people is part of my job.” He claimed he was calling from London too.

Just yesterday, I had a rather alarming experience with a missed call from 020 8089 4121, coupled with a rather unsettling automated voicemail supposedly from a Sarah Wilson. The message warned that if I didn't engage, I would face some rather grave legal repercussions. Curious, I decided to return the call and was greeted by a chap named John Parker, who claimed to represent HMRC. He informed me of a supposed error regarding my income tax obligations and how much I apparently owed. To make matters worse, he threatened to escalate things to court, suggesting that a warrant for my arrest could be on the horizon, along with the freezing of my accounts and a tarnished name. I promptly reported this to Action Fraud as it clearly reeked of a scam.

I reckon this is a total scam. Has anyone ever tried ringing them back to check if it’s some sort of premium line? What did they say if you did? I’m just hanging about right now, thinking maybe I’ll ring them back and have a laugh by chatting their ear off, messing about for a bit. It’d be a laugh to waste their time and mess with them a bit. Imagine if loads of us did that and sort of flipped the script on these lot - could end up clogging their lines and wasting their time instead!

Been getting calls from 02821788333 twice in three days now. Didn’t pick up since the number looked unfamiliar. After seeing what others have said, pretty sure it’s some kind of scam.

Best to just disregard any communication from them entirely; they’re after your cash and it's definitely a scam. Just don’t engage at all. They attempted the same with me, and it was incredibly stressful!

I’m self-employed, so this call really threw me off. Pretty sure it was a scam though, HMRC always send letters first. If I was this unsettled, I can’t imagine how terrified older people or those with mental health issues must get. Didn’t pick up and I’ve blocked the number now.

Just a heads up to everyone, if you get anything through your door and it doesn’t have your name and address on it, just bin it straight away. Legit letters always have your details on the envelope. If they don’t, it’s probably some kind of scam. Don’t waste your time!

It's baffling how these people get hold of our phone numbers. In this day and age, shouldn't there be better measures in place to shield us all from these fraudsters operating worldwide? We deserve more protection from these scams invading our privacy.

I received a dubious call that felt eerily reminiscent of those dodgy YouTube scams. The chap on the other end claimed to represent HMRC and introduced himself as Roy Brown, though his accent was distinctly Asian/Indian. The moment I started to catch on to the ruse, he abruptly ended the call. Just a word of caution - steer clear of any requests for money from these shifty characters!

I received a rather peculiar call the other day; a robotic voice proceeded to leave a message claiming to be Officer Sarah Wilson from HM Revenue. She urged me to return her call and ominously warned of legal repercussions should I choose to ignore her request. However, after conducting a search on your platform and discovering that it's likely a scam, I decided to dismiss it entirely and promptly blocked the number.

Got a weird voicemail with some American sounding robot voice claiming to be from Inland Revenue. Sounded pretty scary, like they were threatening me or something, saying stuff like "Don't ignore this message or else." It's definitely a scam as far as I'm concerned. I can only imagine how upsetting it must be for older folks. I'm just gonna block the number and pretend I never got it.

I got a voicemail telling me to get in touch right away to avoid going to court and getting a huge fine. They said the case was now being handed over to customs and excise and that I should call them back as soon as possible to sort it out. But they never explained what it was about or who was actually facing court. When I rang back, it took ages for someone to pick up, and when they did, they said they were from customs and excise. I tried to explain myself but they just cut me off and hung up. Proper frustrating!
