Received a call from this number, and the chap was keen on signing me up for broadband and line rental for the bargain price of £13.50 a month. Clearly, he was angling for my bank and card info. I decided to play it cool and mentioned I currently pay only £9.99 a month, and surprisingly, he bought it and ended the call! Quite amusing, really!

They wanted me to turn on my computer and press the Windows Key plus R at the same time, then tell them what showed up. I told them I didn’t see anything because I hadn’t done what they asked. After that, the person just said alright and ended the call.

I had a rather suspicious phone call from this number purporting to be from something called "Tech Help". The person on the line requested that I power up my computer and then press the Windows Key along with R, asking what appeared on my display afterwards. I didn’t follow along and told him I couldn’t see anything, to which he simply replied 'alright' and then abruptly ended the call. Quite dodgy, if you ask me!

The caller ID kept switching between ‘INTERNATIONAL’ and a number starting with the Coventry area code - total giveaway this was a scam. As soon as my answerphone kicked in, the caller disconnected straight away, which just screams dodgy. I’m really puzzled how these scammers manage to ring from overseas but have the calls show up as if they’re coming from local UK numbers? And why isn’t anyone shutting these numbers down? Over 1,300 people have flagged this on WhoCalledMe alone - so seriously, who’s going to step up and put a stop to this nonsense?

Like loads of others here, it turned out to be a computer. I just said thanks and then ended the call.

I told them I was downstairs in the kitchen and my laptop was up the stairs, so asked if they could wait while I grabbed it to enter their code. But instead of going up, I just left him on hold and made myself a cuppa. Took him like 7 minutes before he finally hung up. Felt good wasting their time rather than the other way round!

Got a call from a lady speaking with an Indian accent, claiming she could sort out my PC. I played along and kept her chatting for around five minutes, then just rested the receiver sideways and kept saying stuff like “Could you say that again?”, “Yeah” and “No” every now and then. She finally gave up trying to convince me. Blocked the number straight away.

It's quite funny getting calls like this. This person rang up saying something like, "Hi, I'm contacting you from xxx and I understand you're the primary user of the computer." How would they even know that without me giving any details? When I said I wasn't the main user, they insisted on talking to the owner but wouldn't explain why. I kept asking for the reason and then they just abruptly ended the call. I hope no one gets tricked by stuff like this.

Had another call today from a lady who could hardly speak any English, saying there was an issue with my Microsoft PC. I thought it was hilarious since I don't have any Microsoft gadgets, only use Safari. Plus, I'm on the TPS list, so how come they keep ringing? When's the government going to do something about these scammers?

Not sure who it was, but I just put the phone down as soon as I answered. I'm on the TPS list, yet I still get nonstop calls about my internet being cut off, boiler deals and stuff. Whenever I actually get someone on the line, I keep interrupting and tell them to get me a pizza instead, then go on about my favourite toppings for ages until they give up and hang up. Keeps me entertained, that does!

I got a call from a woman who said she was from Microsoft, trying to scam me by taking over my computer. She wasn’t very sharp, so I just followed what she said for a while pretending to be interested. After a bit, I asked if I'd used up enough of her time. She didn’t seem to catch on and put me through to her "manager"! I messed about with him a bit too before telling them I had to leave. Hopefully they don’t fool too many people though, they really weren’t very convincing.

Got a call from 02476682876 claiming to be from Microsoft, saying there was a problem with my computer they needed to fix. They mentioned Techhelpline and told me to check it out online. The bloke on the phone sounded Asian and gave me a number, 0800 0314014, but I couldn't get through to it. I got wary and didn’t do what he asked. Also, I’ve been getting loads of calls early in the morning where no one even speaks when I answer.
