Received a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent, claiming there was an issue with my TalkTalk broadband (which actually was the case). She instructed me to enter 'eventvwr' in the run box to show some errors on my router. That’s when I got suspicious and told her I’d call her back - which I never did. Later on, I found out that command lets the caller get remote access to your computer files. Definitely a red flag!

Got a call on my home phone, which is on the TPS list, from someone claiming to be tech support about an issue with my Windows PC, the classic line you hear these days. When I asked where he was based, he mentioned Coventry, but his accent definitely didn’t sound local. Creepiest part was he actually knew my name. I called him out, said it was a scam and told him to take me off his list. He didn’t waste time after that and just hung up.
