This phone number has been ringing my landline every single day this week. I don't even pick up my house phone nowadays 'cause it's just some kind of scammer every time. If anyone actually needs to reach me, they can just leave a voicemail. Even though I'm registered with the telephone preference service, these calls keep coming through.

Got a call from this number earlier, they just dropped as soon as I picked up. After seeing the other comments, I'm thinking it might be the same one that rang this morning with a recorded voice claiming to be from BT, threatening to cut off our internet if we didn't press 9. I didn’t press anything since we don’t have any BT service.

Got a call from a Coventry number around 11.30, but they just let it ring for five times and then hung up. I've had a few people pretending to be from Microsoft saying they can sort out computer issues. I usually tell them to shove off and report them to Action Fraud, the police team that handles these scams. Cheers to everyone else who shared their experiences too.

About 4 years back, I fell for one of these scams and ended up having to fix my computer which cost me a fortune. Never let these fraudsters get control of your machine, you’ll only end up regretting it. Honestly, I’m shocked the cops haven’t shut down this kind of crime by now.
