They told me I’d supposedly done something really bad and insisted I call them back on a different number they gave me. Luckily, I searched the number online first and found out it was dodgy. The message started with something muffled and then said, “HMRC, don’t ignore this as it’s urgent.” I answered on the fourth ring but it just went straight to voicemail. It wasn’t a real person speaking, more like a robotic recording. Pretty sure HMRC wouldn’t call me like that, so I looked it up on Google and found out that number is linked to scammers.
