Got a call from 023 8154 2345 at about 1:19 pm, left a voicemail that sounded like a dodgy robot. I'm pretty sure it's a phishing scam, so I'm planning to report it to the HMRC’s fraud team.

Around 1pm today, I got a call from a recorded voice warning me that HMRC were taking legal action against me. They said I must ring back immediately as it was urgent. They read out a number for me to call, but I missed it and figured they’d say it again. Instead, they just ended the call. When I dialled the number myself, someone picked up but quickly hung up. I've now reported both the number and what was said to HMRC's phishing team.

I didn't pick up at first, but when I rang back, some voice with an accent was on the line, talking about being from HMRC and asking for my info to check why they’d phoned me. I’d read somewhere on legit HMRC pages that if they ring you, the number won’t show, usually withheld. So, I just didn’t share anything.
