Got a call from someone claiming to be from BT’s security team but it was obvious they weren’t legit. They said there was an issue with my internet and asked what devices were hooked up. When I mentioned I had 7 computers online, they quickly ended the call - I reckon they figured out we run a business and spotted their own scam.

They claimed to be from BT internet security, but as soon as I sounded doubtful, the person just ended the call!

Didn’t pick up and they never left a message. Ended up just blocking the number.

It was a mystery who rang as they ended the call before my voicemail kicked in, so it ended up being just a silent call. I usually don’t bother returning calls that come through silently or from unknown numbers. If someone genuinely needs to get in touch, they’ll leave a proper message with details about the reason for the call, who they are, and the company they represent, along with a direct number or extension to reach them back. Any call that fails to give this info, I automatically assume is a scam and treat it with caution.
