I got a missed call last Thursday, 22nd Nov, but the person on the other end never left a voicemail. I wasn't able to answer at the time anyway. After checking this website, it seems like calling them back might actually harm my phone or cost me loads - so probably best to just leave it alone.

Got a call from BT about internet security, but it felt dodgy so I just ended the call. There should really be some action taken against these fraudsters who use phone companies to scam people. Providers ought to be held responsible and make amends to those cheated.

Got a call from a man with an Indian accent warning me about international fraud on my internet and telling me to turn on my laptop. He sounded really pushy, probably because he noticed I was hesitant. The number showed up as a London one. I’ve put a warning about this scam on Facebook to alert others about this dodgy bloke. Really surprised this hasn’t been taken down yet given how many people have shared similar experiences.

Some bloke with an Asian accent called me claiming to be from BT's Cyber Security team. I just had a laugh at him, and then he went on about cutting my internet off and charging a fortune to get it turned back on. Proper scam, if you ask me.

Got a call that was totally silent, but I could hear what sounded like a busy call centre in the background. I’m sure they'll ring again soon, but next time I’m gonna be prepared to mess about and waste their time properly.

This number popped up on my phone earlier today, showing as some kind of international code, so I just ignored it. No voicemail or anything, so I ended up blocking it. Feels good knowing if they try ringing again, it’ll just get knocked straight away.

Got a call from a woman speaking with an Indian accent claiming to be from BT. She told me my broadband was being hacked and asked me to switch on my computer. I told her I don't have one, everything I do is on my tablet. Then she asked if my tablet was on. I asked where exactly she was calling from, and she said London. Since I also work for BT, I asked her which office she was calling from. She immediately hung up. Total scam!

Got a call from some bloke claiming to be from BT about my internet, but I don’t even have their service. When I started giving him a mouthful, he kept telling me to "shut up"! Said his name was Nigel or something. Ridiculous.

Got a call from this number earlier today, and the person said they were from BT. They claimed my internet was involved in some dodgy stuff like money laundering. When I asked how they could possibly know that, the caller got a bit rude and told me to turn on my computer. I told him I don’t own one, then he said “well then turn on your laptop” - which I also don’t have! After that, he just hung up on me. What a waste of time.

Some lady with an Indian accent rang me up saying my internet was under attack and asked me to turn on my PC or laptop. I kept quiet and listened till she finished her spiel - trying to get access to my computer, no doubt. I told her straight that if she bothered me again I'd be reporting her to the cops! Total scam alert! Never hand over any personal details and definitely don't switch on your devices for these calls. Also, double check they actually hang up after you toss the phone down!

I got a call from someone with a thick foreign accent who seemed like they were just reading from a script. They claimed my internet was being used for some illegal stuff and wanted me to stay put at my computer so they could guide me through what to do next. I told them I wasn’t having any of it and hung up straight away.

Got a call from an Asian bloke saying my internet was dodgy or hacked, and someone was using it for dodgy stuff (spot on about it being slow though, always a pain! 😂). I asked him who was meant to be using my connection, and he said I had to turn on my computer first. I just laughed and said, "No thanks mate, not happening. Cheers!" and hung up.

My elderly parents, both in their eighties, received a phone call from a woman with an Indian accent who said she was calling from BT Cyber Security. As far as I know, BT doesn't have a security team that contacts customers like this. Even though my parents don’t have a BT phone line, she insisted they owned the network and had to carry out some "security checks." This isn’t true at all - the network is managed by Openreach Ltd, not BT. I just hung up on these fraudsters. Please don’t get involved in any chat with them and definitely don’t share any personal info.
