Phone number ☎️ 02083556322 👆 is reported as a persistent scam originating from international call centres using a UK number, typically with an Indian accent. Callers claim to be from BT or BT Security, alleging internet faults, hacking, or illegal activity on the recipient’s account - often when the person isn’t a BT customer. The objective is to gain remote access to computers or personal data. Many users recognise the scam quickly, hang up, and block the number. Calls sometimes involve threats or aggressive behaviour if challenged. Despite numerous reports and blocking attempts, the calls continue frequently, targeting all ages, including elderly individuals. Authorities have difficulty stopping them due to the use of disposable lines and VoIP. It is strongly advised not to engage, never provide personal details, and report such calls.

This number rings maybe twice a day for us. Just like others mentioned, the person on the line sounds Indian and claims to be from BT, telling us our internet has a problem. Thing is, we don’t even use BT. So I just hang up straight away.

Got a call from a U.K. number but it was definitely an international one. I picked up, but the person just ended the call straight away. Doesn’t seem like a genuine reason for calling.

Got a call from some Indian guy claiming to be from BT security, telling me there was suspicious activity on my account and they'd disconnect me. I knew straight away it was a con since I don’t even use BT. So I pretended to follow his instructions on my laptop to waste his time. After a bit, I called him out on the scam. That’s when he lost it, started cussing like crazy, and then just ended the call.

I received this call that appeared to come from a British number, but it turned out to be an international connection. I can't help but think it's probably not on the up and up. When I picked up, the caller just ended the conversation abruptly. Quite suspicious, if you ask me!

Got a call from 02083556322, picked up and could hear a bit of a tussle in the background, which was odd (noticed someone else said the same thing here). Then a lady with an Indian accent told me "This is BT security." I just replied, "No thanks!" and ended the call straight away.

Some woman called pretending to be from BT Security, saying there was an issue with my internet. Oddly enough, our internet is currently down anyway. I immediately guessed it was a scam since I get loads of calls like this. When I told her I didn’t have any internet right now, she asked why I was lying. I told her she was the one being dishonest, ringing me with a dodgy scam. Then she just hung up on me :-D

Got a call from someone saying they were with BT, insisting BT provides internet across the entire UK. They told me my internet had been compromised and insisted on getting access to my computer to sort it out. I told them I only speak to my actual internet company, then they just cut the call off. Proper annoying!

A couple of days back I got a call from some robot sounding American voice telling me my internet would be disconnected unless I pressed 1 or 2. I figured no matter what I pressed, it was probably a scam trying to get me hooked onto a premium rate number, so I just ended the call. Checked by dialling 1471 and the number was hidden. Then today this 02083556322 number rang me, went to my voicemail, and left absolutely nothing. Feels like it’s the same scammers having another go. Definitely dodgy. SCAM ALERT all the way!

These people keep phoning me over and over. Now, everytime I answer, I just say "good afternoon" or whatever time it is. Then I tell them they're connected to the local police station in my village. As soon as I say that, they seem to hang up right away. Makes me think they’re just scammers trying to con folks.

02083556322 has popped up again, guess the Xmas break is over for them. Then there’s 02083556332 and 02083556302 - seems like Virgin Media got a batch of these numbers from BT. It’s a bit odd though, they all reference BT when you call, stuff doesn’t quite add up. Could be Virgin using them internally, or maybe just some random folks wasting time. From now on, I’ll just let the answering machine deal with their calls.
