Got a call from 020 8355 6322 today, they claimed my internet was getting hacked and asked me to say what picture was on my screen. When I flipped it back asking him to describe it, he just said he already knew and was trying to see if I did. I asked for his number but he wouldn't give it, saying he wasn’t certain I was the account owner. I told him I'd hang up and ring BT directly myself.

Someone with an Indian accent called me today at 16:08 claiming to be from the BT Fraud team. I couldn’t really catch what they said, so I asked them to say it again. They kept saying something about my internet being used by someone else! I told them I’d get in touch with BT myself to check because I was pretty sure it was a scam. They insisted they really were from BT, but I just said bye and hung up.

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent, said she was from BT, even tho I’m not even with BT. She claimed my broadband security was at risk. Asked me what gadgets I’ve got connected online, so I told her none. Then she asked if I don't have broadband at all, I said no, and she just ended the call.

Got a call from a woman with an Indian accent who said her name was Jane and claimed to work for BT Cyber Fraud Team. Got a call from some bloke called James claiming to be from BT cyber fraud or something like that. He wanted me to log into my PC so he could guide me through a process. I went along with it for a bit, then he suddenly said, “you’ve been hacked for real now.” When we had a laugh at him, he started swearing at me and then just dropped the call. This is the second time he’s called me in as many days.

Junk calls - try to block the number if possible - I usually say “just a sec…” then leave the phone alone for a bit, stops them from ringing anyone else during that time.

Got a call from some bloke with an Asian accent, same story as last time about my internet being involved in some dodgy business or whatever. I told him I’d fiddle with my computer, then after a few minutes rang back and said I’d just realised we don’t actually have any internet or computers! He went quiet for a sec then said something like “you know what’s coming next,” mumbled some nonsense and hung up. Probably should’ve kept him waiting a bit more just for fun!

I just got a call from a man with an Indian accent who said his name was Peter and that he worked for BT’s Cyber Security team. He claimed my internet was being used for fraud and said the National Cyber Security folks had asked him to get in touch. He tried to get me to log into a website so he could "secure" my connection. When I told him I wasn’t at home, he said he’d call back but only between 9am and 4pm UK time. He’s planning to ring me on Saturday, and I’m definitely going to mess him about! He must’ve thought he was pretty smart. Watch out for these con artists!

Brilliant - got a call from some bloke, sounded Indian or maybe Asian, saying he was from TalkTalk and that my security had been hacked, so he needed to get into my computer. I played along for ages, about 5 minutes, just winding him up as he slowly twigged I wasn’t falling for it. When he finally cottoned on, he had the nerve to call ME a f##king idiot :-D Had to chuckle! He reckoned he was sending the police round as well. Like others have said, no clue why these numbers are still allowed to be used. Might start carrying a whistle to shatter their eardrums! :-)

Got a couple of calls today, first one at 9:25am from a guy who said he was with BT, sounded Asian. Then another at 1:40pm, an Asian woman claiming to be from National Cyber Security. When I told her it was obviously a scam, she threatened that if I didn't cooperate, they'd hand my info over to the National Security Agency and I'd get arrested for cybercrime. Total rubbish, but well annoying.

They keep ringing and if you don’t pick up, they just hang up. Make sure you report the number to the Telephone Preference Service because they try to trick you into logging in and scamming your bank. Stay alert and be careful. It’s a good idea to contact your bank to make sure everything’s okay with your account. These scammers really need to be put to an end, I’ve heard of way too many vulnerable folks who fell for it and did what they asked.

I asked for the name of the lady and told her I’d ring back using the official number of my provider, but she got annoyed and asked why I’d do that. I said if it’s really about security, she should get why I’m not just blindly trusting phone calls. Then she just ended the call!

Got a call on my phone, which was a bit unusual. The bloke claimed to be from BT National Cyber Security. I called him out, told him BT isn't my provider and that I'm aware of these security scams. He then went on some nonsense about having a genuine ISN internet security number, but it all sounded dodgy. I told him I wasn't interested and ended the call. I've blocked the number since.

Got a call on my home phone at 8.55am this Saturday from a man with an Indian accent saying he was from BT and that someone was using my wifi without permission. Got a call from this number a few days back, it went to voicemail but no message was left. Then they rang again today around 4 in the afternoon and I answered. Been getting calls like this the last couple of days - just silence on the other end, then it cuts off suddenly. Happens about the same time each day too, really odd.

I got a call from someone saying they were from BT security, telling me my internet was being used for something illegal. I told them that wasn’t true, but they just kept insisting it was and the conversation was getting silly. So I just ended the call. The voice sounded like it was from abroad.

Had a call from someone saying they were from 'BT security', sounded a bit dodgy so I just hung up and blocked the number. Pretty much the same story as what everyone else is saying.

I've just had a right nuisance from these folks. When I told them, "You're talking absolute nonsense," their response was a cheeky "No, Madam." Seriously??!!

Got a call from a woman claiming to be from BT security, saying someone was using my Wi-fi from outside the house. She told me to log onto my computer so she could provide a code to stop the unauthorised device. I quickly ended the call and called BT myself. They confirmed it was a scam and the caller was pretending to be BT security. If you can, block the number!

Some bloke rang me up and started chucking out some ID number for me to punch into my computer. I told him straight up that he was a scammer and just ended the call. Didn’t have time for that nonsense.

Somebody rang me saying they were from BT security, saying folks nearby were using my internet for dodgy stuff. I was a bit suspicious at first but played along just in case. Did a couple of things they asked, without sharing any personal info, but it felt off really quickly. So I ended the call. They rang back right away asking why I’d hung up. I told them my partner is actually employed at BT and called them out as scammers. They instantly cut the line after that!

Got a call from a lady with an Indian accent saying she was from BT security. I asked her for her phone number to check, but she just asked why I needed it and then promptly ended the call. Bit suspicious if you ask me.

Had a very similar run-in. Called her a scammer and hung up straight away. For sure, best to steer clear and block her number if you can.

Got a call from this number, someone saying they're from BT Security and that they found "illegal stuff" happening on my computer. They asked me to turn it on so they could check. I told them I didn’t think it was really BT and they started getting a bit rude, so I just ended the call. I rang BT afterwards and they said they don’t do that kind of thing. Tried blocking the number with 1572 but system didn’t recognise it.

Just got a call out of the blue from some call centre. When I picked up, there was this weird 10-second pause, with loads of clicking sounds like they were fiddling with different lines. Then this woman with an Indian accent said she was ringing from BT about some security probs with my computer. Total scam right from the off. I ended up shouting a load of abuse at her till she finally hung up.
