I got a call from someone with a non-British accent claiming to be Matthew Rogers, talking about cryptos I supposedly dealt with before. He said he was on the FCA register, but I know for a fact he’s not - because that’s actually me! Just a heads up, be really careful and don’t trust any random calls offering financial stuff.

Got a call from some bloke called Matthew who knew my name and was rattling on about a Bitcoin account under my name. When I asked him where he’d got my details from, he just ignored it and kept pushing about shutting down this Bitcoin thing. He’s called me three times in a couple of days, and hung up right away when my husband answered. Really dodgy - don’t share anything with them, definitely a scam.

I waited for the phone to ring a couple times before picking up since I didn’t recognise the number. As soon as I answered, they didn’t say anything and just hung up after a few seconds. Pretty sure it wasn’t just a random call, so I’m labelling it as harassment instead of unknown.

Got a call claiming I'd been conned and owed money in bitcoin. I asked what bitcoin was, and the person tried to explain. I mentioned I was on the telephone preference service, to which he seemed clueless. The call lasted about 12 minutes before he started accusing my husband of secretly trading bitcoin. He got upset when I called him a scammer a few times. I asked for a letter to prove it, but he said they don’t do that. He gave me an email address, so I told him to send all details by email since I didn’t buy that he was really from the FCA.

Totally dodgy call. A bloke with an accent I couldn’t place said he was with the FCA, working on some scheme to get back money frozen after a scam. Claimed it was his job and could prove who he was, but didn’t even know the FCA’s address - bit odd, right? I told him I hadn’t put any money in or lost any cash, but he kept insisting I’d been scammed because I was on his list. Really pushy bloke. In the end, I just hung up cuz he wouldn’t take no for an answer. At least I wasted his time for about nine minutes, so he couldn’t annoy someone else who might have fallen for it.

Definitely a scam. I got a call from a woman with a strong Eastern European accent claiming she was from the FCA. She asked me to verify my identity, but I told her to prove who she was first. She insisted I look up her name on the FCA register (which actually existed), but then said she needed to remotely access my computer to do that! I wasn't about to let that happen. I've been bombarded with calls on my landline for the last couple of months! The number looked unfamiliar, so I let it ring off. Today, in a fit of irritation, I finally answered. A bloke with an Indian accent asked for me by name, but I played it coy and didn’t confirm. Just then, my internet cut out completely. When I inquired who he was and the reason behind his call, he claimed there was some fraudulent activity concerning my accounts. I must admit, I let a few choice words slip before hanging up. Somebody rang me up with a strange accent, trying to convince me to do some sort of money deal. I’m nearly 90, so I’m far too old to fall for that nonsense. I've got no intention of being taken for a ride by anyone.

What an absolute pest of a caller! They've bombarded my phone incessantly, yet not once have they bothered to drop a message. There's no way I'm picking up for them!

Somebody rang me out the blue and as soon as I asked if we were acquainted, they dropped the word "Blockchain". I assumed it was something to do with crypto, so I just ended the call. They've been ringing now and then trying to push crypto schemes on me. Watch out for those kind of calls, you might end up losing a fair bit. Anyone familiar with crypto will understand what I mean.
