Got a ring from this number right after I picked up a call from 020 3190 8732. The person claimed they knew about an accident I'd had and wanted to talk compensation. (The call before couldn't even say what car or when it supposedly happened). I told them I didn’t think I’d had an accident, and the bloke asked if I maybe had been in one then. Reading through other reviews, this looks like a scam, so I’m going to block the number.

Got a call from 02081612483, the company said they were AME Accident Management Services, claiming to be from Cape Town. They mentioned they got my file about an accident I supposedly had in the past year but couldn’t really provide any details. Then they started asking if any of my family or mates had accidents recently, tried to push me to talk to a supervisor when I didn’t want to share any info. Felt a bit dodgy to me.

Said it was some kind of accident. Told them I didn’t want any unwanted calls and to take me off their list. Had to keep saying the same thing over and over cause they kept arguing I was mistaken and should hear them out. They finally just ended the call. Really pushy and quite aggressive. Could be really harmful to people who are more vulnerable.

Twice as dodgy, but honestly, every caller these days who doesn’t bother leaving a message or texting is pretty suspicious as well. My go-to is to block them straight away, no point risking it once you’ve figured out who they are. Proper scammers, all of them.

This person rang claiming I was entitled to compensation for a car accident. I decided to humour them to kill time and stop them bothering more vulnerable people for ages. I fed them fake info and then acted like someone was at my door (while I washed up). After that, I said I needed to let the dog out (which I don't have) so I could do some ironing instead. Once they twigged I wasn’t taking it seriously, they threatened to send Covid through the phone. Lovely!

Got a call from a guy named Alex. Said he's a South African exchange student doing some work with AMS and supporting his wife and two kids. Mentioned he’s been living in the UK for a couple of years now. I was curious how he could be an exchange student yet working that much. He said Covid rules let him work like that. Claimed he lives in Wigan, close to his job. Alex insisted this isn’t a scam and accused folks leaving bad reviews here of just being jealous rivals.

I got a call from Andy at AMS, sounded like he had a South African accent, talking about that car crash I was in. Honestly, I kinda played along before but now I’m just over it. Told him to stop calling and just hung up. The phone buzzed right back after that so I blocked the number. Proper annoying bunch they are.

Got a call from an Asian woman first, talking about a car accident. Was feeling a bit bored so I just played along to drag it out. Then she handed me over to a bloke who spoke English (definitely South African accent). Said it wasn’t my fault, blah blah, mentioned a £3000 cheque and said they’d put me through to someone higher up who’d want my home address and all that. By then I was well over it and just ended the call. They rang straight back, but I didn’t bother answering.

Car insurance con artists ringing me up claiming to be from a company linked to a recent car crash I was supposedly involved in. When I asked for more details, the caller said they'd connect me to their manager. The "manager" tried to sound all sympathetic about the accident - which never happened and I don't even have car insurance in my name. I had a bit of a laugh at him and asked what he was playing at. He got proper furious, swearing and shouting, calling me a "time waster" down the line. Total joke.

Got a call from the same number, a guy named Jay with a South African accent. He was talking about a Cat C payout for a car accident where I got hit by another driver and AMS was supposed to pay. He said he wasn’t a scammer since he didn’t ask for any personal info and tried to make me feel comfy by saying he’d pass me to someone else upstairs, mentioning the phone might ring a couple times while connecting. He’s quite persistent and keeps trying to ring back, but he couldn’t give me any real info about my car or accident. Just watch out for this one.

Thought it was a dodgy call so i didn't pick up, and turns out i was right. A couple hours later, that same blocked number (0141 846 1985) rang me again proving it was a scam. If you’re unsure, just don’t answer - legit callers usually leave a voicemail anyway.

Got a call from a Bristol area code. I kept them on the line a little to hear what nonsense they'd come up with. They started talking about a car crash I've never been involved in. Got a call from a bloke named Adam Smith, said he was from AMS, but his English was pretty poor. He claimed I could receive a payout of more than £3000, though I wasn’t clear on how or why. When I asked for proof and said I wanted to check out their company first before sharing any personal info, he just ended the call straight away.

Got a call first from 020 8161 1688 claiming they could help me get compensation for a car crash I supposedly had. Found it funny since I don't even drive willingly.… Played along, telling them there was still a court hearing going on. They said they’d have to check with their manager then. I replied ‘Alright’ and quickly ended the call. They seemed to get the hint but rang back a few seconds later from 020 8161 2483.

Got a call from a lady with an accent asking if I was the person she was speaking to. When I said yes, she said she was calling from AMC about a car accident I was involved in. Problem is, I don’t even have a driving licence or a car! Definitely a scam, but I reckon anyone who owns a car and has been in an accident might believe it’s real.
