Got another call less than 6 hours after the last one, plus a few more the days before. Twice today they’ve told me my so-called plumbing and drainage cover - which I definitely don’t have - isn’t the best deal, and they're upgrading me without asking to some ‘better’ plan. They’ve been warned that the next time they call from that number, I’ll blast a loud football whistle down the phone. I don’t mind any fallout if it means they’ll stop bothering others and trying to scam folks.

Some young woman with a really strong British accent called me, saying I was paying too much for my drainage cover insurance (which I don’t even have). She wanted to switch me to a cheaper plan. When I asked what company she was representing, she said she’d transfer me to the admin team. Then, a different lady answered - her English was good but she had a noticeable foreign accent. I asked her again which company she was from, but she mumbled something I couldn’t catch. When I asked again, she just hung up on me.

I AM LISTED IN THE DIRECTORY, HOW DID THEY MANAGE TO GET MY NUMBER? I’m on the x directory, don’t know how they managed to get my number. A few days before I got the call, 3 blokes and a woman turned up round my area, knocking door to door about insulating my loft, which ended up making it damp. They didn’t show any ID. Avoid ringing this number at all costs, it just forwards you to some random person. I found this out because last time I got a call from it, and then about 5-10 minutes later, some bloke rang me up fuming about a message he’d received. He wouldn’t believe I wasn't the one who contacted him. It doesn't seem like a scam since there’s no one actually there to talk to, and no company name or proper contact details are ever given. From what I can make of it, the whole thing’s just designed to frustrate people.

This is definitely a scam, no doubt about it. You can handle these sorts of calls in one of two ways: either just end the call straight away or ask them to send you written details. Whatever you do, don’t share your address. They say they already have your info, so why on earth would you give them more?

The bloke on the phone sounded really sure of himself, trying to come across as important by dropping names like The Government and the British Board of Agrément, suggesting it was some kind of official loft insulation survey. I played along for a bit but he slipped up when he mentioned an article from The Daily Times. When I asked if that paper even exists, he just ended the call. They called a couple of times over the last two days, but I was too slow to answer my landline. I looked up the number since it wasn’t familiar, and came across loads of similar complaints.

No idea who it was, kept going on about some work supposedly done here (we never had anything done). Tried to get them to stop but they just wouldn’t shut up. I rang back and they said I could opt out from more calls, did that, then guess what, got another call the very next day. Absolute rubbish.

Got a call from someone called Matthew, said he was from "Energy Advisory Line" and claimed to be based in Oxford, but the number was actually from London. He mentioned something about having done work on lagging, which I've never asked for or had done. When I tried to get more info about his company, he got rude and hung up. Sounds like a total scam to me.

Got a dodgy call from someone named 'Matthew' saying there was a problem with my new loft insulation. He said it was unsafe and offered a free check-up. When I told him I don’t even have a loft, he just ended the call. Pretty sure that “free survey” would’ve ended with a fake urgent repair cost. Total scam, watch out!

Received a call from this number saying our loft insulation was due for replacement and they needed to pop by quickly to check it out. They kept pushing really hard. Once we asked how they even knew our loft needed that, and requested some written info, they just ended the call straight away.

This number has popped up on my phone a couple of times. When I picked up, a guy called Matthew said he was ringin’ about the loft insulation we supposedly had put in. I asked him ‘When was this done?’ There was a long silence, then he said it’s causing condensation and needs checking. I asked again about the date it was installed, and then he just ended the call. Sounded like some sort of recording, but his voice was real calm - could easily scare people who might be worried!

They've rung me a couple of times but I didn't pick up and no voicemail either. I've had around 6 calls from the 020816 number, so I reckon it's the same company just different person ringing.

Got a call about some free health screening, honestly what a load of rubbish! 🤦‍♂️ These people are clueless, just block the number if it rings you. Seriously, why don’t the officials step in and shut this mess down already?

Got a call from someone claiming to be with 'Windows and Doors,' but the moment I asked how they found my number, they just ended the call straight away.

My phone buzzed but I didn’t know the number so I just let it ring out to voicemail. The person just hung up straight away and didn’t say anything, so I’m guessing it was some kind of scam call. Blocked the number now.
