Today, John called me four times. During one of these calls, I politely told him that he was wasting both my time and his, as I am currently working from home and need to answer the phone for some colleagues who prefer the landline. Surprisingly, he called again just ten minutes later. Knowing his ringtone, I intentionally chose not to answer. I found his persistence to be quite rude, which I made clear to him by calling him a rather unpleasant name (briefly silencing him). He thinks highly of himself while actually being a nuisance. John, you are not great, but rather an insufferable individual. I can't help but wonder if an elderly or vulnerable person would give in just to get rid of him. Blocking his number may come with additional costs, which seems unfair to me.

They hid their number when I called back, saying they were from some market research group called Digital Solutions. Total scam. Get yourself a BT call blocking phone that checks every incoming call - no one gets through without telling you who they are. Honestly, these phones are brilliant and stop all the scam calls dead. You can even block unknown numbers so they can’t bug you or pass your details on to other scammers! Highly recommend getting one.

These scammers are proper awful. Make sure to report every call like this to Action Fraud so it’s on record with the police. Just google Action Fraud, go to police.uk, find the report button, then head to phishing reports. You’ll need to scroll past the email scams bit to get to the right form. It’s quick, no need to sign up or anything. Stay careful, and do your bit by reporting every dodgy call you get so others don’t fall for it.

I recently stopped my boiler service plan with Domestic and General. This morning, I got a call saying they could offer a cheaper cover and that they'd send me details in the post. They already had my address, but then asked for my first name, and when they started asking about my bank, I ended the call immediately.

DIGITAL SOLUTIONS MARKET RESEARCH called me trying to sell a third party insurance for my pipes and drains. I told them it’s already included in my buildings and contents insurance, then she just ended the call. Really rude. I called back their number, found out the company name and was able to opt out of these kind of calls going forward. It’s an automated system, so hopefully it stops the calls now.

Watch out for this one, a woman named Kylie phoned me saying my drain service plan isn’t the best choice. She kept stopping after asking stuff, like she was expecting me to say yes or no! The risk here is if you answer and it’s recorded, they might use your voice for something dodgy later. This is definitely a scam and could be quite risky, best thing to do is not engage and just end the call straight away.

020816106640 keeps ringing me 4 times today, all about insurance stuff, one about TV, another about the boiler, then something on the kitchen stuff and water or sewage. I've told them loads that it’s a social housing sheltered flat but they just keep calling.

Got a call from this number today about a boiler contract. I told them we don't have any agreement with them and that our regular plumber is coming by next week.

How come with all these complaints about that number no action has been taken against the person running it? They should be blocked from using the phone network altogether. This morning at precisely 9:01, I received a rather suspicious call from a man and a woman inquiring about some boiler repairs. They then proceeded to ask for my bank details, which I found utterly ridiculous. It’s frankly outrageous that they feel entitled to ring up anyone, especially our older folks, with such dodgy requests. There must be other ways for them to secure funds instead of scamming unsuspecting individuals. Ridiculous charlatans, if you ask me!

This number has rung me loads. Twice there was silence, once I missed it and another time some bloke named John was on about boiler insurance I never signed up for! Then a woman called about some plumbing and drainage policy I don’t own either. Got a bit fed up and told her off to quit calling cause I’m sure it’s just a scam!

Some bloke called John kept ringing but it’s actually some sneaky recorded message that hangs up as soon as you get mad! It’s been calling nearly every single day, and this morning alone, I’ve had a call at 8 o’clock and now again at 10!

Keeps calling daily claiming to be from home security, uses a new number whenever I block them. Asked nicely to stop but they just keep ringing!!

Got called by JOHN, some clever bot that tries to sound real. It even gives you pauses like it’s waiting for a reply so you think you’re chatting with a person. But if you say specific words, like swearings, the call just ends right away. Also, kept ringing multiple times every day with the exact same message - totally a robot for sure. I’ve put the number on block now.

Right from the moment I chatted with this bloke, it was clear he was pushy and quite rude. Totally sounded like one of those boiler cover scams. He tried to get me to dial a different number, likely a pricey call if I’d gone along with it. I won’t repeat what I told him, but he quickly got the hint and hung up. I’m tagging this number as Dangerous and Harassing. Best just block it straight away.

I have had this number blocked for ages now. Since my phone doesn’t ring when blocked numbers call, I only peek at it a few times weekly and then delete the number saved.
