Just like many folks here, got a call from someone Indian claiming he wants to chat with the owner (we run a tiny B&B). Said he was from UK Energy, Chamber of Commerce, or even the UK Government, telling us we've been charged too much for electricity. They ring us a couple times a day. Usually, I just put the phone down and get on with stuff, or tell them I'm gonna report them to the police.

Got calls from this National Grid Services lot and a company named UK Energy Services or something. Proper thick Indian accents shouting all over the phone about me bein’ overcharged. Told her to chill and stop shouting, but she kept going on about how they’ve checked my wattage and gonna sort it legally for me (a legit legal firm from National Grid or UK Energy Services maybe?). Of course, they wanted all my details - name, phone number, even a pic of my energy meter. They wouldn’t quit calling every single day, even my dad had to shout at them to leave us alone.

A bloke phoned me saying he was making a complaint about our electricity bill. He claimed he had to put me through to his manager. The woman on the line said she was from the Checks and Balances dept of the National Grid, said we were being overcharged and wanted me to have my bill ready so she could go over it. I told her to ring back later. She gave me a direct number: 020 8133 0598. I rang our actual electricity provider straight away, who confirmed it’s a scam and that they’ll probably try to get personal info to sell on. Definitely not answering any more calls from these lot.

Got a call from someone claiming to be from the National Grid, warning about a power cut - turned out to be an Indian guy trying to scam me. I told him straight that the National Grid never calls regular customers and they definitely don’t have call centres in India. Wow, got the exact same number and name Bilal! Today, this guy called my boss like 10 times during his training. My boss actually contacted the cops about that Indian scammer. But I don’t get how he called first from a mobile. After 3 minutes of my boss talking, I grabbed the phone and told the scammer to stop calling, said I knew he was an Indian scammer and then hung up. This time the caller was "Unavailable" but it sounds like the same con from "The Energy Board". He wouldn’t say where he got my details from, and when I pushed for an answer he warned me my electricity would get cut off. He asked when I’d had my gas boiler installed, claiming I could get a free replacement from "The Government". He clearly didn’t know it’s only recently been fitted. I’ve already removed my number from the TPS and Council lists, so someone must still be sharing or leaking it.

02085646084 - A bloke with an Indian accent said he was ringing from the National Grid, something about 'Line Lost Sector' or whatever, but I didn't catch everything he said. Had a few calls from a man named Bilah Jedd, who said he was from the National Grid and wanted to speak with the company owner. He claimed our energy supplier had complained about their service, so it was passed on to National Grid to look into it. There’s no Energy Board, National Grid don’t cold call, and no such free meter registration exists. The numbers they call from are IP based, so they could be located anywhere but use UK numbers to trick people. Best to steer clear.

Someone called saying they were from a government agency and claimed they could reduce my electricity bills by half because the energy company was overcharging me for kilowatt hours I wasn’t using. They seemed to know I run a business, but didn’t have much other info. They asked for my bank details to sort out the "refund," which I immediately said no to. I’m pretty sure this was just another spam call. Don’t believe a word they say.

Every time I asked for their website, they kept throwing out different links, none of which actually existed.

The caller claimed to represent the main office for 45 UK energy companies and said we’re getting charged too much, but then insisted he wasn’t trying to sell anything - just wanted some info. I really didn’t buy that at all.

I told him firmly that by law they had to remove our company details from their records and stop calling us. He just kept going on with the usual “listen here, mate…” type of nonsense.

Eventually, I just muted the phone and let him ramble until he gave up and hung up.

My guess is these callers are actually based in Pakistan, just pretending to be local with a UK number.

Hello, I received a call from this number at my workplace. I ended the call five times, but on the sixth ring I picked up. An Asian man on the line started shouting and being rude because I kept hanging up. When I told him I wasn’t interested in what he was selling, he got even more aggressive and began threatening to visit my business. This feels like proper harassment. I get bombarded with calls like this about ten times every day and I’m really over it. Apparently, the caller said his brother was a lawyer and that he’d deal with me. This kind of intimidation is just not on. These people should be reported to Ofgem as soon as possible, they need to step in and put a stop to this.

Got calls from some Asian people saying they're from the UK government, electric board or national grid or something like that. They were pushing Opus or E-on energy deals. You can tell it’s dodgy straight away. They ring me every single day out of the blue. I’ve been keeping track for about 3 months now and I’m thinking of reporting them to Watchdog.

Hey everyone, I’m proper chuffed with this company. I was really stressed out because Opus Energy sent me a notice saying they’d cut off my meter. Then out of the blue, this bloke called Eric Parker got in touch and sorted everything out for me. It’s rare to find folks who actually want to help nowadays, seriously. Before that, some guy called Ali Hogan or Faisal Bajwa took all my details and set up a 3-year contract with Opus, probably just to earn his cheeky commission. What a nightmare, still trying to track down that dodgy Asian geezer.

Got a call from some energy board folks here in the UK and they gave me this number too. I was pretty impressed with them since I just took over a business and there was an unpaid bill under the old owner's name. They handled it all for me without asking for a penny. I’ve even passed them on to other businesses cause they’re really helpful, not like the usual scammers. Honestly, these guys aren’t out to make a quick buck. I trust them fully and whenever I ring this number, they’re always ready to assist. I’ve told my family and friends about them as well.

I’ve been getting incessant calls on both my new business landline and my mobile from this same phone number. The people on the other end claim they’re from the UK Board of Energy, but it’s obviously a scam, so watch out. Being in business for a while, I told them to just send me a letter instead. They even tried ringing me through Viber of all things, saying they’re some kind of government agency. They want just three minutes of my time, then jump straight into asking for my BANK info - as if I’m daft or something! I told them where to go and reported it to Action Fraud. Really wish these muppets would just disappear.

Hey folks, Just wanted to share my experience with this number. From what I know, these people aren’t scammers at all - they actually helped me out loads. I had problems with the electric and gas supply for my business, and they sorted it out perfectly. I can’t speak for everyone connected with this company, but Mr Ali Raza was brilliant. I signed two business energy contracts through him and everything turned out exactly as he promised. Before this, I was with Opus Energy, but Ali found me a better deal with cheaper rates. Based on my usual monthly electricity and gas use, I’m now set to save over £100 every month for each business. A while ago, I got a call from someone claiming to be from the UK energy board office, and they gave me this number to sort things out. I’d just taken over a business and there was an outstanding bill in the previous owner’s name. These folks sorted it all out for me without asking for any money. I've since passed a couple more businesses their way because they’re genuinely helpful, not scammers. Honestly, I trust them loads. Whenever I ring this number, they’re always supportive. I've even told my friends and family about them. Definitely legit, in my experience!

This number called me too and when I asked them to email me the details, I got a message from exactly the same email address mentioned here. There was no company name anywhere on it... They kept insisting they could cut my gas bill by 40%, but whenever I asked who they actually worked for, they just tried to dodge the question. I wouldn't trust these lot at all, definitely don’t hand over any of your bank info.

I've had around ten calls from them pushing energy savings and asking for my personal info. They even dropped an email - [email protected] - but now I just ignore their calls completely.
