I had this number show up on my computer, saying it was Microsoft support. They told me some "adult" website was found on my laptop and that my identity was at risk. They claimed my laptop was locked and I couldn’t get in. Foolishly, I called the number. Spent ages on the phone, only for them to ask for £149 for some software. That’s when I caught on it was a scam and hung up. Problem is, some kind of software got installed, now I can’t get into my laptop at all. Gonna have to find someone to help me sort this mess.

They said it was Microsoft calling, but I’m pretty sure it’s a scam. Something about it just didn’t seem right to me.

Watch out, this is definitely a scam. My mother in law got caught up in it and ended up being charged £102 for supposedly installing some software that’s actually malware she never asked for. When you start seeing random flashing or get weird messages out of nowhere, just shut down your computer and disconnect the router straight away. I’m now stuck trying to fix her laptop from all this rubbish.

My computer just froze up, and then this woman with a loud American accent started yelling about some malware issue. She kept pushing me to call a number and kept repeating that there was a big problem. I even saw a screensaver with the New York skyline pop up, which felt really sketchy. Definitely seemed like a scam, and I’m crossing my fingers I didn’t fall for anything before shutting it down.

Just a heads up, today my PC started showing loads of pop-ups and repeating voice messages claiming my IP was hacked through some adult site. They kept pushing me to call a number straight away and warned me not to turn off my computer or it’d get worse. It all seemed pretty well done and quite convincing, but I’m sure it’s a scam. I’ll be reaching out to Microsoft directly, using a trusted contact number, just to be safe.

Got a call on my wife’s laptop saying something about being hacked by a Microsoft-linked porn site. Pretty sure it’s a scam or some dodgy malware trying to scare us. Anyone else seen this? What’s the best way to deal with it?

Honestly, I think my laptop got messed up because someone hacked my IP address. Now it’s acting all weird and not working right. Pretty sure that’s what caused the problem.

I just got a warning pop up on my laptop saying my IP address was compromised. It gave me a phone number to call and warned me not to turn off my computer or it could get worse. Figured I'd look up the number on here first to see if it's one of those dodgy scam calls.
