My 72 year old mum got tricked into spending £700 on iTunes vouchers. They even put some money into her bank and then told her she owed another £1750. Luckily, her building society spotted the odd transactions and blocked her account before more damage was done.

I got a call earlier today about some sort of PPI payout, they said I’d been granted £3500. But they wanted me to buy an iTunes voucher worth £175 to unlock the claim. When I asked for further details, they told me a solicitor would come round with the cheque but first, I had to make a purchase from the bank account linked to the claim as proof. As soon as I mentioned I worked for the tax office, they just ended the call abruptly.

I received a call from a chap named 'Brad,' who insisted he was from Claims Easy concerning my PPI reimbursement. He mentioned I was in line for a refund of £2500, but first, I needed to purchase an iTunes gift card worth £125. Supposedly, a courier would swing by shortly and deliver a cheque for the aforementioned amount in return for the card. Sounds a bit fishy, doesn’t it? I've gone ahead and alerted the authorities.

I tried looking up "Claims Easy" and found no trace of them online. They rang me up pretending to be PPI advisors and asked me to buy iTunes vouchers, saying it was for charity. Honestly, don’t trust them at all - they just want your cash. Definitely a scam, so keep your details to yourself.
