Got a call claiming I owed some kind of property tax, asked them to explain which tax and then just cut them off. They rang back straight away, I ended the call like four times. The person then started threatening me, saying they knew my address and would show up to do stuff to me. They even said they’d throw a bomb and kept saying “I am a bomber.” Honestly, just don’t pick up if this number calls you.

Got a call from a guy with an Asian accent asking me to verify a loan application supposedly made earlier today. I told him I never applied for any loan and asked him how he got my info, but he just mumbled and it wasn’t clear. He then read out my home address, mobile number, and email, so I told him not to continue with any loan process since I hadn’t made any application. I also requested him to send all the loan details to the email he mentioned. Haven't heard anything back since.

My mum got called by a guy with an Asian accent, who asked if she was by herself and wanted to pop over. After the third time, I picked up, gave him a load of cursing for about five minutes, then told the cops about it. Same dodgy vibe as others have said here.

Got a call from someone named Paul Grey, said he was from MOJ, but he messed up the spelling of my name and didn’t bother fixing it. He wanted to come round and drop something off. I politely told him no and when he asked why, I just said I don’t deal with visitors at the door. After that, I told him the call was dragging on way too long and ended up hanging up.

Had the most upsetting call earlier. My phone rang, I didn’t pick up and just hung it up. Then the same number called again, I answered but all I could hear was some weird crackling, nothing clear at all, so I hung up again. When they called a third time, an Asian man answered and shouted at me, “Why did you hang up?” I was stunned and said, “Excuse me?” He then went on, “Can’t you understand English? Why’d you hang up?” Honestly, what I said back isn’t polite! Seriously, how do these rude, unwanted calls even get allowed? Why don’t the authorities shut them down straight away? It’s gotta stop!

Got a call from some bloke named Alan claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice about PPI compensation. I asked him why the Ministry of Justice would be calling me about PPI, told him to remove my number from their list and never call again, or I’d report them. Total SCAM. Don’t fall for it thinking you’ll get a free payout - they just want your personal info.

Had a call from 02081440465 today. The guy on the phone spoke with a strong Indian accent and claimed to be Kevin Lewis from the Ministry of Justice. He told me I was owed £2500 in some PPI refund and that it could be transferred to me within a couple of hours. Then he asked me to buy a £150 iTunes card and deposit it along with the cheque into my bank account, saying the bank would then pay HMRC. I told him straight up that I wasn’t having any of it. Seems like loads of phone numbers starting with 0208 are being used by scam call centres, probably all run by the same group.

My nan got a call from this number the other day. When I told the bloke to remove her number from their calling list, he was proper horrible about it. Refused to take it off and even said they’d keep ringing us over and over. It's shocking how rude some of these callers can be!

Got a call yesterday from someone claiming I was owed £2500 for PPI. They asked how I wanted the money paid, I said by cheque. They said their solicitor would come over with the cash, but nobody showed up. Just a heads up, don’t hand out any personal info to these sorts of calls. 7/4/2017

Yet again, I received a phone call from an overseas chap claiming to represent some ministry of justifications or another. I've had my fair share of these bothersome calls previously, and I made it quite clear that I was well aware it had to do with mis-sold PPI claims. This time, however, I really lost my patience and told him to kindly shove off and refrain from harassing me any further.

So, I got a call offering me an unsecured loan of £6000, with repayments set at £200 a month over three years. They told me I needed to put down a £200 deposit as a sort of guarantee. After I paid that, they suddenly said there was an extra £390 tax I had to cover. At that point, I knew something was off and ended up reporting it to the TSB’s internet fraud team. Honestly, if a deal looks too good, chances are it’s a scam. Just a heads up - this company seems to operate under different names. Cheers!

I got a call from a bloke claiming he was from some "Ministry of Justifies" or something. I've had similar calls before about PPI claims, so I wasn’t fooled. He started being pretty rude, asking if I was living with my mum. I told him I’m in my seventies and maybe he should think a bit. Then he asked if I had a sister he could speak to - I said no, we’re not in contact. After that, he wanted to know if I had a wife; I told him she’d passed away. I asked him for his phone number so I could report him to the authorities, and he just told me to shove off and hung up on me. Proper unpleasant.

Got a call from this number claiming to be from some specialist claims team at MOJ Petty France. I asked them to confirm exactly where in Petty France they were based, and they said post point 7.86. That’s rubbish because I actually work in Petty France myself. The lady on the line told me my PPI claim was approved and said a solicitor from the local county court would deliver a cheque.
