I received a call from this particular number, but the caller just listened briefly and then abruptly ended the call. I'm curious to know which area in London this number is registered to. I would appreciate it if anyone has any information on this.

Got a call claiming I owed some kind of property tax, asked them to explain which tax and then just cut them off. They rang back straight away, I ended the call like four times. The person then started threatening me, saying they knew my address and would show up to do stuff to me. They even said they’d throw a bomb and kept saying “I am a bomber.” Honestly, just don’t pick up if this number calls you.

Got loads of calls from the same number today, even got another call right after I ended one. Honestly, just get a call blocker app on your phone and block this number.

I received a call from a gentleman of Asian descent who asked me about confirming my loan application, which I found confusing as I hadn't applied for any loan. Curious about how he obtained my information, I inquired about it, but his response was unclear and I couldn't understand him properly. He proceeded to verify my home address, email, and mobile number. I requested him politely not to proceed with any loan applications because I hadn't submitted one. I also asked him to send the loan details to the email address he had. However, I haven't received anything so far.

My mum got called by a guy with an Asian accent, who asked if she was by herself and wanted to pop over. After the third time, I picked up, gave him a load of cursing for about five minutes, then told the cops about it. Same dodgy vibe as others have said here.

Got a call from someone named Paul Grey, said he was from MOJ, but he messed up the spelling of my name and didn’t bother fixing it. He wanted to come round and drop something off. I politely told him no and when he asked why, I just said I don’t deal with visitors at the door. After that, I told him the call was dragging on way too long and ended up hanging up.

Received a distressing phone call today. Initially, the caller didn't say anything when I picked up, so I hung up. They called again, using the same number, but this time there was a muffled voice that I couldn't comprehend. Once again, I ended the call. On the third attempt, an Asian voice spoke aggressively and questioned why I had ended the previous calls. Surprised by this sudden accusation, I politely asked him to repeat himself. He retorted, "Don't you understand English? Why did you hang up?" My response is not suitable for repetition. It is truly alarming how these impolite and uninvited callers can get away with their behaviour. Why aren't they shut down immediately?

Got a call from some bloke named Alan claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice about PPI compensation. I asked him why the Ministry of Justice would be calling me about PPI, told him to remove my number from their list and never call again, or I’d report them. Total SCAM. Don’t fall for it thinking you’ll get a free payout - they just want your personal info.

Had a call from 02081440465 today. The guy on the phone spoke with a strong Indian accent and claimed to be Kevin Lewis from the Ministry of Justice. He told me I was owed £2500 in some PPI refund and that it could be transferred to me within a couple of hours. Then he asked me to buy a £150 iTunes card and deposit it along with the cheque into my bank account, saying the bank would then pay HMRC. I told him straight up that I wasn’t having any of it. Seems like loads of phone numbers starting with 0208 are being used by scam call centres, probably all run by the same group.

My nan got a call from this number the other day. When I told the bloke to remove her number from their calling list, he was proper horrible about it. Refused to take it off and even said they’d keep ringing us over and over. It's shocking how rude some of these callers can be!

Got a call yesterday from someone claiming I was owed £2500 for PPI. They asked how I wanted the money paid, I said by cheque. They said their solicitor would come over with the cash, but nobody showed up. Just a heads up, don’t hand out any personal info to these sorts of calls. 7/4/2017

Yet again, I received a phone call from an overseas chap claiming to represent some ministry of justifications or another. I've had my fair share of these bothersome calls previously, and I made it quite clear that I was well aware it had to do with mis-sold PPI claims. This time, however, I really lost my patience and told him to kindly shove off and refrain from harassing me any further.

I received an enticing offer for an unsecured loan worth £6000. The repayment plan was set for 36 months with a monthly installment of £200. However, they requested a £200 security deposit to finalize the loan process. Once I made the deposit, they surprised me with additional taxes totaling £390. At that point, I realized it was time to involve the internet fraud department at TSB bank. It's important to remember that if an offer sounds too good to be true, it most likely is. However, this time, frustrated by these persistent calls, I firmly asked him to stop bothering me and politely told him to go away.

I received a call from a man claiming to be from the Ministry of Justice. In the past, I have received similar calls and knew that it was related to a PPI claim. He showed extreme rudeness and asked if I lived with my mother. I responded by telling him that I am in my 70s and urged him to use his brain. I then informed him that I don't speak to my sister when he inquired about her. He proceeded to ask if I had a wife, and I told him that she had passed away. Feeling frustrated, I requested his phone number so that I could report him to the police. In response, he rudely told me to go away and abruptly ended the call.

There was a pause at the start, then a bloke with a funny accent and shaky English tries to speak. He almost got my name right and said he was ringing from the Ministry of Justice about my PPI claim. I told him I never had one and that I didn’t even know that organisation was real. That didn’t go down well with him - he got shouting, started swearing, and then just hung up on me!

This is undeniably a scam. A person with an accent from the Indian subcontinent, struggling with English, claimed to speak with my wife. The individual falsely identified themselves as a representative from the Ministry of Commerce or some nonsense. It's astonishing that despite this being a British/London phone number, it hasn't been blocked to prevent such scams.

I received a phone call from a specific number claiming to be from a specialized claims department at MOJ Petty France. I requested them to confirm the exact location in Petty France and they mentioned post point 7.86. However, this turned out to be false as I work in Petty France myself. The caller, who was a woman, informed me that my PPI claim has been approved and that a solicitor from the local county court will deliver the cheque.
